Is there any mod at all that improves shadows in Oblivion like in this demonstration? The brightness also looks so much better...

Nope. They physically tore dynamic shadows out of the game engine.

There was an attempt going through OBGE to try and restore dynamic shadows, but that has been on a rather permanent hiatus due to unresolvable problems.

Thats a shame, I figured perhaps it could be activated configuring 0 and 1 in a .ini file somewhere. Oh well heres hoping Skyrim will have all the beautifull shadows in all its glory. It just fits perfectly playing stealth based characters
