Better textures and no 64 bit OS? No problem!

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2011 9:18 pm

Just try Maldo`s texturemod and enjoy great textures ( most are by far better than the ones from Cryteks high res pack). The mod is still in progress so its DX9 only for now.

But its nice to see that some people show Crytek how its done right...

Check out his 22 page thread on inCrysis: http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=33034&p=1

He's changed sooooooo many textures, it's ridiculous.

If devs includes a MOD option in the main menu of their game you will not be risking your life activating one. It's much more fun to say the quality of something when you've seen at least.

Hey MaLDo when I run your mod it crashes with a memory allocation error. But once it did work, but crashed when I tried to pick up a sniper rifle, I tried to attach an assault scope but it just appeared as nothing. I've got 4gb ram and 32bit Windows, is your mod particularly RAM-intensive?

I have dual boot Xp Pro 32 and Seven 64 with 4GB and this mod works great on both OS, check your ram dude !

@blackforce999, you are an idiot and an ignorant, how dare you criticize the wonderful work of a person who does this for free, and a thousand times better than crytek textures!!!

@Aegixx, you say it has changed too much texture, Why do you think? because the textures are crappy crytek, drooling, low resolution, etc....

Guys see an ophthalmologist quickly, Maldo the pack is the best that exists at the present day, and when I see people spit gets on my nerves a bit, because this person worked for months for a magnificent result and free for all!

peace!

I was praising MaLDo, not complaining.

HEy blackforce999, where are u coming from? Noobtown? Ever played Crysis 1 with mods like msters config and rygels texture pack? I guess not otherwise you wouldnt talk as much crap as you do right now. The Cryengine 2 was modable like hell and still delivers insane results with textures and effects that are way more impressive than anything (official) Crysis 2 or Cryengine 3 related has to offer. And it all works on 32 Bit Systems.
So bigger levels, bigger textures and more particle effects are working on 32 Bit Systems with Crysis 1 but the official textures (which are nowhere near the quality of rygels Crysis 1 textures or MAldos Crysis 2 textures) for Crysis 2 dont work? This 64 Bit requirement is unlogical as hell and should even be obvious for trollmakers like you.

To Maldo:
You did a real great job man! You are actually the reason why i gave this game a second chance.
Some things i would really love to see in your next version would be:
-replacing some more ugly textures like the rubble in Crysis 2
- add parralax occlusion mapping textures for us DX10 card owners (just like the ones from Kraisi? http://www.pcgames.de/Crysis-PC-119380/News/Crysis-Parallax-Occlusion-Mapping-in-Perfektion-Sensationelles-Textur-Pack-Update-763054/
-combine the whole mod with a config that changes all the default Time of Day settings.

But anyway you did a amazing job so far!
I love you for that texture pack!

When I play on XP Pro 32bit and DX9, visually there is almost no difference with DX11, The most visible difference and the P.O.M...

Why not also have to include the owner of DX9 as in Crysis 1 ????

The water movements are identical with DX9 and DX11...

As I already said before, I have a dual boot XP 32 and Seven 64, the biggest difference is the patch 1.9 that made ??it on both OS at the same, tessellation is minimal in DX11, and some rocks? ah yes! the giant alien tentacles... Crytek omg you take people for idiots...

Pack HD textures is pure bullsh!t, or are the HD textures, OR??? Pack is 1.65 GB and we see no difference with or without! that of Maldo that 800MB and the difference and flagrant...
