Better Than "Game Of Thrones" : Othor Games

So tons of people are raving about "Game Of Thrones" being the greatest thing on television.

What do you think is better and why?

I'm with you. Halo actually has a really deep background and fleshed-out universe. The games barely scratch the surface.

The books are great and where the meat of it all is (I loved Ghosts of Onyx).

But as for GoT, I really don't like it. I got 5 episodes into the first season and just couldn't do it anymore. Just wasn't my cup of tea. I'm for SciFi anyways :/

I managed to get through the first episode, and don't plan on watching more. For my taste, just about everything on TV is "better than" GoT. It's all personal taste, not better/worse.

Lol, Game of Thrones is a decent book series and the show is pretty good. But there are tons of great shows out there. None are equal, but neither are any really better. Those designations come with the individual. For someone who enjoys a lighthearted show or a comedy, Game of Thrones is total crap. For someone who really likes dark harsh political shows, it might or might not be their cup of tea.

Oh don't judge the show by its first episode. Big mistake. By the third you will be hooked. The first episode is like 50 appetizers being thrown at you, its all just the building blocks to further story. Watch up to maybe the fourth and I think that'll do the trick.

I think it's just personal preference. For example, I'm a major Tolkien freak, so I like Tolkiens work better than anything.

No, I won't be hooked because I won't watch them. I also haven't read the books. Just based on what I have seen/read/heard, Martin isn't my cup of tea. Just let it go. Your taste isn't mine.
