better than I thought!

Bought F:NV used off ebay. Played Oblivion for the last couple years, and thought I'd try this.

Totally addictive. Haven't played any of the other fallout series.

Too fun.

welcome new fan! if you can stomach the ancient graphics and also like turn based combat then i highly recommend fallout 1 & 2. you can see how the series started and the writing is really good and still holds up. i also highly recommend FNV's dlc. they are not one-off's, but a coherent story and are full of great gear, stories, and characters.

F3 was also a good game, i'd highly recommend it when you're done with FNV.

All Fallout games are good (except the Burned Game of course, I shouldn't even have to say that) but Fallout 3 and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel are the odd ones out due to F3 being more of a focus on action and exploration and FT being more of a focus on squad based strategy.

All good games none the less.

New Vegas is the best entertainment investment I've made in a long time. Since MOO2, really. I'm still playing it regularly, so it's provided massive value-per-dollar. I have no regrets about buying it or the DLCs.

For me it's a week to go until the Ultimate Edition gets released, I've got my character planned out already and can't wait to play this.

Heh, yeah, can understand OP's sentiment. I got FNV thinking it'd be an okay sequel to Fallout 3, it blew my mind and ruined FO3 for me.

Expeceted a lot and still, expectations were exceeded
I'll even go that far to say, it is probably the best RPG I've ever played, and I've played quite a few since the days of Bard's Tale, Dungeon Master 6 Wizardry....

Not the best RPG iv played, definitely in the top 3 though. It sits right under Diablo 2 and Baldours Gate 2(both are tied for me)

Pretty immersive so far. The amount of glitches is not as bad as I thought it would be from reading the reviews. Not as many bugs a Oblivion, but maybe I just haven't noticed yet.

Had the game less than a week and I'm working on three characters, each going separate directions.

I'd play 24-7 with an IV . . . except that I'm married . . .

I was tempted to promote Fallout, Fallout 2, Tactics and yes even Fallout 3, but I wanted to see if anyone else would :P

I didn't expect anyone to make note that I didn't lol

I had the last two weeks off before I'll be too busy to play at all, so I took a lot of me time.

According to Steam....

Time spent playing New Vegas over the past two weeks: 34.5 hours
Time spent playing Skyrim over the past two weeks: 6 hours

[censored] it Vegas, why u so good?

I loved cRPGs/wRPGS since Ultima 3 and make a point to try them all. Without a doubt, FONV is the best RPG of the last ten years.

BG2 is a classic... but like a Elder Scrolls title it relys on scope to disguise the lack of player agency. Still, it has more character in a single party-npc than the entire Elder Scroll series.

Meanwhile, as a Dinosaur, I still struggle when people call Diablo an RPG. It's not even in the same genre. It's an action game with an inventory. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine game - but when I'm making a list of good RPGs it's not even in consideration.
