Quick question: If I add more sub folders into my Elsweyr folder e.g. 'public' or 'explore' will it behave correctly? Means I'll only hear explore music outside and public music inside?

if you recently installed fraps... why don't you just uninstall it for a quick test??

Shame on me... I usually think of things like that. Anyway, it did the trick. I also uninstalled my codec pack and will be on a need to have basis.

Now let's rejoice for I can enjoy Better Music System once more! :foodndrink:

no. i would have added the folders otherwise.

please read the readme. septem is latin for seven... ;)

and: always use the search window at the bottom left. especially for huge topics!

to setup and use this mod you have to plan and think. no script can do that for you or fill the folders with music.

so what would be the benefit? i don't know omod. what would the script do?

I install all my mods via OBMM (by making an OMOD) - helps me remove things easier as well in case of crashes.

This mod confuses OBMM with its multiple folders - I'll definitely read the readme in detail to configure, but the OMOD would help in installing this mod.

I experience a sort of "CTD when the battle music begin !". It' s not happen everytime, but too much times anyway :/ .
Now, the only codec i've got is windows media player.
I disabled the sound acceleration from the oblivion.ini also, but not resolve this issue.
I read the readme; i've installed obse v0018 beta 6, Enhanced Music & Control v0.72B, SoundCommands v4.0; deleted the dummy.mp3 files in the folder where i put my customs mp3.
I don't know where i wrong :( .

Cogstar - do you want to release the OMOD script if side777 says OK? TheNiceOne makes OMOD scripts, and that has made installs of any mods so much easier, so maybe we can learn from that.

i use bain and i still don't know why someone would want to use omod instead...

i've resolved the "CTD when the battle music begin !" with "set BMSCombat.DetectionThreshold to 0 (or -1)"
This CTD happen sometime (for me) with "Duke Patricks - Actors Can Miss Now.esp" activated and "set BMSCombat.DetectionThreshold to 10".
If i disable DP Actor can miss now.esp , i can keep BMSCombat.DetectionThreshold to 10 (no CTD).
Anyone else can confirm this conflict ?

First all it's a great mod. Can't think of an "oblivion session" without it. But since the beginning I have an annoying bug/conflict that happens once in a while. It's always at the end of a combat. The music fade and change to the "explore music" but the fps dropped by half (sometimes more). If i saved the game just before and reload the game, the fps came back to normal but the script is stuck, there's no music anymore and when i try to raise the volume (in audio options the volume is 0) there's a message (something like : "music is fading you cannot change volume now"). So i have to reload a previous save before bug and raise the volume in the audio options. If it's a conflit, i have only Deadly reflex that change combat settings. So any insights on this Plz ?

Ps Sorry for my english, i did my best here :embarrass:

Ps 2 . More info on the issue : Just reloaded my save (always get many ctd on start afterwards, it take sometimes a few retries to launch the game) and when i open the console i get "emcchangeplaylist : playlist do not exist" endlessly, adding one after another... So now i know why the huge drop of fps. But still no idea on the reason though...

please follow the troubleshooting tips! you never know what is causing a conflict.

the zero volume is a bug that occurs if you save while fading. i don't have the time to fix it...

Actually that was the issue, me saving during fading. So i shortened the time of the fading, in case of...and i will try very hard not to save just after a tough FCOM fight. Thx a bunch for your time and your mod.

Hmmm, dunno if it's a mod conflict or a BMS bug (or feature?), but whenever I use the OOO lock bashing feature, it starts the combat music for a few seconds. It goes like that:

- Activate chest with weapon drawn, it glows purple as its supposed to in OOO
- Execute power attack to try and bash the chest open, the battle music starts
- Battle music stops after a few seconds
- Rinse and repeat

(BTW I had a laugh at the "dummy rat". I think it's a very funny way to simulate combat :) )

Hmmm, dunno if it's a mod conflict or a BMS bug (or feature?), but whenever I use the OOO lock bashing feature, it starts the combat music for a few seconds.


with BMS disabled??

yes. this was clear. but disabling would always be the first step in troubleshooting.

i need to know how OOO handles combat music as it obviously uses a dummy actor here... and if something else additionaly interferes...

do i have to use all the features?

i like some but not all of the feautures.

FADING between tracks, music types (explore, public...), playlists
● RESUME of normal music if combat was short
● battle music fades out SLOWLY after combat before normal music fades in

i like.

i dont want playlists just the above features mentioned

also is their a performance hit?

Most of that stuff is configurable from the INI file - check out the mod archive and tweak it to your liking.

I don't have any performance hit on my machine when using this mod.

also im using obse v17. v18 is in beta right now : (

since i wont use v18 until its stable how do i go about uninstalling the mod until v18 is stable? do i just remove everything from this mod?

you have to use obse v18 or u will get errors like that.
