No idea about the ingame problems, but did you make sure all your original music folders have at least one mp3 in them after removing the mod? Also, did you remove the two .dll files from "data\obse\plugins"? I had experienced something similar when I first tried BMS, turned out the EnhancedMusicControl.dll doesn't like empty music folders.

ok thx its to bad it dont work for me becouse iam useing obse 0018 beta 4 Requirements of All Natural :banghead:

It works fine for obse 0018. If you don't have any music in the locational folders then silence will be used. Don't delete the dummy.mp3 files because EMC will automatically skip them when creating the playlists. You have to enable the locations that you added music to in the ini.

Well I'm the first to report a lot of problems. I did everything in the requirements but the combat music only plays once and then it never plays again. Also the music disables at random points, turning the volume to 0. When I set it back then it will be set back to 0 automaticly when I resume the game. Now this is even greater, I have removed the mod and now the game won't start. It just crashes when I start it!

side777 found the muted volume bug earlier today in the tesnexus comments and says he will fix that next release. That is caused by saving while volume is fading out and then loading the save.

hmm well i guess i didnt read the ReadMe right becouse it said to remove the dummy mp3 after you put your own mp3's in. From the ReadME : installation: fill the custom folders with your .mp3-files and delete the dummy.mp3. ("Data\Music\Chapel\", "Data\Music\CloudRuler\", "Data\Music\Inn\", "Data\Music\Home\", "Data\Music\Night\") When i put the dummy mp3 back it worked so iam happy but iam shore i read that right.

After three months of playing without music I upgraded to an X-Fi and then installed this and I'm glad I did. Don't have surround sound on the computer but I do have a nice pair of Sennheiser headphones that sound great with this.

I also installed Soundscaper, EAX v0.7 Beta 2, Enhanced Music Control and even the fixed OBGE with Ambient dungeons (to try that out since my install seems rock solid right now). so far no ctds or weirdness.

Very cool that I can now add in custom musics with this to use in certain locales - now to dig through that music archive for the the aural goodness. ECM label here I come.

What I need a reminder of is what is the ideal bit rate to save the music at?

thanks for this.

All of the oblivion music is 192kbs constant bitrate and sounds pretty good.

I haven't read the latest readme. He probably naturally assumed there would be random silent tracks, but this wasn't the case in my testing.

I left them in there because you will have problems if the folder is empty while enabled in the ini. And I tested if the dummy mp3's would be an issue, but luckily emc appears to ignore them when real music is added. I tested this by adding one file to Inn and that one file played every time. Added a 2nd file and it was random between the two. I'm guessing this was an undocumented feature of emc.

I just noticed you have the debugprint on by default (there is a SetDebugMode 1 call in your GetGameLoaded). I changed it myself but you might wanna change that for next version.

I'd use this in a second if I didn't have the stutter issue with Enhanced Music Control. :(

I've found the other problem about my game not starting. It was because I rebuilt Bashed Patch, attaching it to the BMS plugin. So removing the plugin and rebuilding the patch fixed my problem.

Thank you for taking your time to help me out!

Same here. Can't seem get rid of the stutter with EMC though... Reset all codecs, lower acceleration & sample quality, etc. didn't help.

I've had problems with EMC too - the music would play for 10-15 seconds after entering a new area, then stop. I tried this anyway, just to see... and it didn't end well. I turned off all the custom music settings, because I didn't feel like screwing around with all my music (I've got quite a bit of it). The first game I loaded after installing crashed 5 seconds into play; the second one lasted until the first time I got into combat, then it locked up in midswing. This sounds really good, but I guess I'll just have to stick with Musical Immersion. :(

okay. this is very important:

that stuttering is caused by driver conflicts in windows. i read that somewhere but forgot where. may be a site with oblivion performance tips. as far as i remember it happens when 2 mp3 codecs are installed or something like this. it has nothing to do with EMC. and with EMC disabled you may notice one of these short freezes exactly every time the music is switching in the game...

for me reinstalling windows while NOT installing any driver compilation like klite mega blabla did solve the stuttering!

:)

Codecs can cause a multitude of gray hairs... (I am a veteran of what I call the Codec Wars, and will never touch another codec pack again :brokencomputer: ... Ever. They hosed up more than Oblivion...) When I had first tried out the EnhancedMusic.dll on its own, I had that kind of stuttering and a major fps hit... at the time I thought it was due to the drivers on my non-Creative sound card. But on a new Windows install with only the native/essential codecs present, this new music system runs smooth as silk on that very same sound card--and I'm lovin' it! I'm busy sorting out my music tracks into folders (it rocks having different playlists for Ayleid Ruins, etc). Thanks so much for sharing this mod--it works beautifully. :foodndrink:

Alright, could you please tell me what MP3 codec you have installed now, that doesn't give you any stuttering with EMC?

Thanks,

I've never had an issue using CCCP or K-Lite (older). But if you're having problems currently, you will need to remove the current codecs first by using something like Nightmare2013's Codec Reset Utility - http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=266291 (http://nightmare2013.brashendeavors.net), cccp Insurgent, or codec sniper.

I've always had oblivion.exe excluded in my fddshow audio decoder configuration.

I'm using Vista x64, do you know if there's a similar utility that uninstalls only user installed codecs for this OS? I dl:d something called InstalledCodec but it lists all of the codecs which are in use and that's alot. Obviously I don't quite remember which of them I've actually installed myself, but not too many :P

E:Nevermind, I disabled most of the items which weren't by Microsoft.

VERSION 1.2 is out now! (same link)

what is new?
- you can buy a Phonograph at the Mystic Emporium. If you place it somewhere, and when you are in the same cell, it will play a custom playlist which you can choose by activating it. it can use any playlist that comes with BMS, also the ones you have disabled via the ini. (which means you can use a specific playlist only for that Phonograph if you like!) you can use as many of it as you want.
- fixed some bugs

don't delete the dummy.mp3 (which has 0 bytes) or complete folders!

:)

Great,

Downloading now :)

Edit: I've just had a thought, would it be possible to make an Elsweyr folder and have that music play when your in that location? there are Elsweyr music packs out but to use them it involves a lot of hassle moving mp3's in and out of folders when you want to play them. Just a thought, probably not even possible, as I'm not a developer I've got no idea :(

Anyone else having trouble installing this with BAIN?

As in BAIN skipping the dummy MP3s?

What is the ideal way to install this?

thanks

Hi I installed the first version and it works fantastic! So I upgraded to the second version with the phonograph and It still works fantastic.

But the mystic emporium guy does not have a phonograph for sale. I checked that all the files are in there proper place. The new esp is checked and the ini file is in data.
