So frustrating. First it happened in Riften, and now in Markath.

I waited to buy a house until I assisted the people in the town. Once I did
it, I went back to buy a house and get awarded the Thane title. Now there is
no option to buy a house (when before completing the assist 5/5 quest, there
was the option.

My brother had the same problem, but different order. He assisted the people
and bought the house, and there was a quest to talk to the Jarl. He waited on
doing it, now the Jarl's dialogue no longer has the option to get awarded title.

Im assuming every town has this issue, so I would same the game often while
trying to figure out the right order you have to complete the quests and get the
Thane title.

Im hoping getting these titles in each town dont effect the storyline because Im
screwed out of 2 towns and counting.
