BGS Celebration For Skyrim?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:57 am

Pete just took to twitter and said..."Just had a yummy cupcake at a little BGS celebration of an internal milestone (of sorts) for Skyrim. I went with coconut. It was awesome."

Why are they celebrating you ask? This is why they are celebrating..."A successful type of test of every cell in the world."

What exactly does that mean? Successful test of every cell in the world?

Sounds like they ran some sort of test for every cell in the world and it passed.

Interesting. Not really sure what this means though? Maybe the world is complete?

Stress-test, make sure they don't crash or bug or something ?

We'd be better off dragging a modder over here.

Hopefully we can get a modder in here.

Every cell in the game world has passed some type of test?

I was going to post that. They just added insult to injury by reposting on Bethblog all screenshots and art we've already seen under the guise of a Valentine present. I call that bloody cruel, packing that under the name "screenshots gifts".

Yes. My cells are pretty stressed.

It likely means all the cells are implemented and tested systematically (entrance and leaving) and checked for any issues.

I can say very definitively that the cupcakes were, indeed, delicious.

We would need to know exactly what they were testing. For all we know they were testing cell portals to make sure that each door sent you to the right cell or they were testing to see if the cells would unduly lag you or for all we know, they tried loosely conjoining cells by allowing you to see in and out of the cell even though they are separate cells. We just don't know, there are a myriad of possible tests.

I can say very definitively that the cupcakes were, indeed, delicious.

Could you fax me a cupcake

Since killmoms is here, I guess they finished the trailer and they got excited about it.

Well, if they are celebrating it must be good news for us. Skyim is on track and doing very well it seems... Well enough to celebrate with delicious cupcakes...

It takes four years to make a trailer? Todd said as far back as august that "there's a lot of game there to play". That was half a year ago. What's taking so long?

Maybe that they could COC to every cell in the game and have it not crash on rendering. Or, have things fall through the world. :)

They had a character run up, down and across every cell on the map without crashing once?

Nah, but let's celebrate with them anyway :cake:
