BGS under attack for Season Pass announcement.

I don't really care ,I will just never pay money for something that I don't know anything about, especially if the game is not even released.

This was actually a pretty important topic to get so many people riled up about it. My take on the matter is that I don't trust Bethesda with DLC. They've made some good stuff and some bad stuff. They don't get an automatic pass on the DLC from me. I also know that I am not forced to buy it before I know what's in it. So I'm not entirely sure why there is such angst over this. Simple wait and see. Vote with your dollars. What Bethesda typically does with DLC is open up options for the modding community. Each DLC for Skyrim added more options for modders to use in their mods. Eventually, I'm going to get the Season Pass simply so I will have access to the mods that will inevitably require them. It's rather a brilliant strategy if you ask me.

In the end, if I can get the 1,800+ hours out of Fallout 4 that I got out of Skyrim, then the complete package (~$90 US) is well worth it to me. My roughly $110 spent on Skyrim with the DLCs bought individually comes out to about $0.06 per hour of entertainment. I call that value.

Exactly. If some idiot or other feels compelled to give money away that's their prerogative. I'll wait and see. If/when BGS announces what's included in the season pass and it interests me then I'll sign up. If it doesn't then I'll buy DLC a la carte. It's that simple.

But honestly, investing in season passes with a big [censored] question mark attached is just dumb. Again, not my prerogative, but I call them how I see it. It sounds like the majority of the people complaining feel compelled to buy. Maybe their energy would be better spent in asking BGS the size/amount of content included in the season pass.

This times 1000! After all... THIS IS SPART.... errr... THIS IS :fallout:

I can understand rage against the Batman Arkham Knight DLC (which was overpriced and full of crap) but Bethesda haven't steered us wrong yet. I loved all of the Fallout 3 DLC. Only Fallout DLC I didn't like was in New Vegas (Dead Money) but then to counter it there was the DLC that I really loved for some reason (Honest Hearts).

Will I be paying for the DLC before it is ready... Yup! Am I angry at Bethesda announcing a Season Pass?... NOPE!

Rage On.

There IS one thing that drives me nuts though. I'm stupidly angry at anyone for putting the shortcut name as "FO4". Why should I be angry I hear you ask... PEOPLE, THE WORD FALLOUT IS ONE WORD, NOT TWO...

"Fall Out" and "Fallout" are two completely different things. One happens when you accidentally trip and go through a window (or what happens when you don't get along with someone... and then they fall out the window hehe) and the other is when you detonate a thermonuclear device near the ground. Only the one of those is applicable to this game. If you want to shorten the name then USE "F4".... but the name is pretty short anyway and only lazy gits (and twatter users shorten already short words) need to crop the English language down to code words. Grrrrrrrrr :stare:

Rage Off. (sorry.... it just niggles the hell out of me when I read "Fall Out 4" instead of "Fallout 4")

I don't see any reason to be mad at BGS over the season pass. When it comes to Bethesda and DLC, the only thing thing that pisses me off is TIMED EXCLUSIVES. I sure hope they're not planning to pull that crap again. I'm sick of being treated like a second class fan because I don't play on an Xbox. That's the one thing that could put me off buying the DLC altogether.

Which might be what Bethesda is doing as well - they promised that patches will not only fix bugs but add new content as well. Although obviously the major content will be saved for DLC.

I think by now we all pretty much agree that it's reasonable to not want to buy the season pass, but not reasonable to be upset by its existence or announcement. Moving along...

The dlc for the witcher 3 that were free were tiny. I used them all. A Bethesda dlc has much more content in one large dlc

These are the same types of people who were at occupy Wall Street using iPads, the same people who are go green yet smoke, the same people who preach peace then riot in Ferguson; people these days need to be slapped hard and shipped off to an island so they can all protest together.

People love social media and forums because it gives them a place to whine and feel special. Haters gonna hate... The dlcs for FO4 will rock mark my words. If I am wrong I will admit it.

They like to protest and rant and sometimes forget the English language... I like to call them college kids. He probably is one and is probably incredibly high currently.

I'd much rather just pay the extra to get them one at a time. Saving ten bucks over seven months seems pointless when I don't even know what I'm buying.

The Witcher this and the Witcher that. If the Witcher jumped off of a bridge....

What do we constitute as free? I don't think anyone is really getting anything completely free.
Bought with season pass stuff?

If history repeats with Bethesda, you can expect perhaps 4 solid expansion DLC from them. Alone worth $40.
Then there might be a few armor/weapons packs that come as pre-order bonuses that wind up in the digital marketplace later. This stuff is essentially the free with season pass stuff, but they're just frosting because you already got the 4 good DLC for 75% of the a la carte cost.

That's the mindset I have- I am not buying it expecting endless DLC that add minor things here or there. I'm just paying for the few quality DLC at a discount rate. I like what has been done with Fallout regarding DLC thus far, I presume it will continue in somewhat the same manner. Time will tell.

Every time I hear someone say they will boycotting/not purchasing Fo4 because of a feature they disagree with, I am reminded of this http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/11/gam_boycottfail_580-1258143415.jpg.

Look, I love CDPR and TW3, but you do know that BSG gave away "free DLC" in their Skyrim patches right? They just didn't label and quantify them. It was more like "we patched in a bunch of random awesome [censored] for you guys, have fun".

And BSG and political correctness... Last I checked they aren't those other guys from Canada. If you're talking about the ability to "romance" anyone, grow the eff up. It has no bearing on your game unless you want it to... unlike those other guys from Canada.

And DLC that seems to mostly comprise stuff that should have been in at launch (Finishing moves, New Game Plus), costumes or a single quest are so totally awesome and they were so super generous giving us those bits of insignificance for free! *

*This post brought to you through the power of sarcasm.

Judging by the Bethesda's DLC's quality (For Morrowind i only liked Bloodmoon. for Oblivion - Shivering Isles, For Fallout 3 - Point Lookout, for Skyrim - only Dragonborn) i definitely won't get a season pass.

My only concern though is that there will be massive mods (like Project Nevada for New Vegas) that might require all the DLC's, then i will wait for a steam sale to get the rest of the DLC's.

Buzzwords! Feel the wrath of my buzzwords!

I really wouldn't call it "a bunch." Kill cams that were broken, mounted combat that didn't work for magic, Legendary Skills and... I'm pretty sure that's it? Not exactly a windfall of new content. Not that I don't appreciate it, I just think you're overselling it.

Screw the season pass, what if they only release two worthwhile DLCs again? I'll do what I always do, wait until all the DLC have been released and then grab them in a sale.

Those who ordinarily purchase any Bethesda DLC as soon as it comes out deserve a reward for their unfaltering support of Bethesda. A season pass is the only method I can think of for giving those fans a discount exclusively for them.

Knowing that mods are likely going to be dependent on DLC some of the time, just spending the $30 now seems probably the best deal ...at least for PC. [...maybe XB1 also]
