Big Battle (No Spoilers)

I want to preface this by saying I love the game. I recognize its not perfect and won't be, but some things could be improved upon.

I was doing a quest in a major story line where you are involved in a large battle. You need to kill a certain number of the opposition to win the quest. As I was killing enemies I noticed that new ones were literally materializing out of nowhere in front of me. Can't it be fixed so that the enemies run in from beyond my field of view, or at least appear in a direction I'm not facing? I would face a cul-de-sac area with no other point of entry and suddenly three new enemies would just be there out of thin air. I also find it annoying that all of the dead bodies were disappearing as the battle went on. After the fight there were only about 5-6 total bodies in a battleground where many had died.

I appreciate the attempt at making it feel like a big battle without committing so many resources that the game runs poorly, but in my opinion it hurt immersion more than it helped it.

Also, after the battle a high ranking NPC made a speech to the winning "troops" and it was just me and two others. Not really grounds for the NPC to give a giant speech from a podium... another immersion breaking portion of this scene.

Hopefully technology will catch up to the ambition of this game so this type of scene can be better and more realistic.

in those scenes for me there were something like 15+ soldiers whom they were giving a speech too, sounds like you let all your bros die. As far as enemys spawning from nowhere, in the fort battles to which you refer they actually spawn from doors leading in to the fort. In some cases though they do spawn from thin air. Nitpick city up in here.

Consoles can't support to many people fighting at once, and the bodies would just add to the lag. Bethesda did pretty well under those circumstances, in my opinion.

If you're on PC, I'm sure at some stage someone will make a mod to make those battles a lot more epic, with no staggered spawns and more people on both sides.

Without spoiling anything it was in a city not a fort. The fort battle that was similar went better but not great. Partially because it didn't come across as trying to be as epic.

It's true many of my bro's died, the NPC gave a speech to me, my follower and one other NPC... very anticlimactic.

Today's tech is more then capable of such even with AI such as Skyrim has, but again that is today's tech (or really last 4 years)

If you don't want to spoil something, use spoiler tags. [.spoiler]Spoiling stuff here[./spoiler] but without the full stops.

As such, civil war spoilers:
Spoiler
I'd assume OP is talking about Invasion of Solitude/Windhelm, and the speech your respective leader gives afterwards. It does sound like most of your allies died in the battle OP, so not really something Bethesda could control short of spawning a whole new army for one speech.

Maybe so, I thought it would be kind of cool if the speech had a different tone/style if the entire army died in the process. Those are the little touches I think could improve this game a lot.

Like I said I love the game, I just recognize there are still opportunities for improvement.

Spoiler
Also thanks for the heads up on the spoiler tags. The battle happened in Whiterun and was an Imperial quest.
