I have to say that sounds pretty...hardcoe. :disguise:

But unfortunately, I never found myself all too interested in keeping up with that stuff in New Vegas in hardcoe mode, so I might just have to turn my difficulty down to very hard in Fallout 4. Though, I suppose not without seeing how it works here first.

Like that it adds disease aswell, and this gives me some hope that it will be implemented day one for TES VI. I hope it is abit more dynamic then New Vegas mode.

This will also knock out the need for a....well..needs mod on my end. They're going a step further with diseases to boot, hot dayum.

Hype.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I hope the new Survival Mode incorporates the thing I'm currently doing. On my 3rd play-through, I made several self-imposed restrictions that have made many aspects of the game more challenging for me. While I don't require my character to sleep, I do require that she get ALL her healing from food or sleep (no stimpaks), all her rad cures from doctors (no Radaway) and she is not allowed to use ANY chems or alcohol at all (meaning she can't use the drink that includes Radaway and alcohol as ingredients). She also may not purchase ANYTHING, meaning she can only use gear and ammo that she finds and/or creates herself. And those are just a few of the restrictions...

I'll be interested to see what Beth has in store for us!

I know, where do they get off spending a whole 3 months (practically an eternity, amiright?) focusing on patches for bugs, before mentioning anything about DLC. The nerve!!

I hope any overhaul of survival features divorces things like sleep, disease and food requirements from the highest difficulty setting. One shouldn't have to put up with bullet sponges to get the other stuff.

The biggest 'survival' change I want to see is scarcity of stimpaks and radaway. There is no reason to use radiated food or water to heal, or to ever invest in the medic perk due to stimpaks being so ridiculously abundant that you can pop 'em like candy for even the slightest scratch and still never run out. You never use more than you find on any given mission and they just keep accumulating.

I really hope they are not going to limit the 'survival' aspects to the survival mode. I want to have those mechanics without having to the boring chores of killing bulletsponges... But, yea, this is great news :D

That's a good point. One reason this sort of thing should have been implemented from the start as a different game mode like hardcoe mode, not as a level of difficulty.

And I definitely agree with you on the stimpaks and radaway. The over abundance of these resources make a number of perks (if not, almost every perk involving Endurance) useless.

Oh oh I'm getting excited for Fallout 4.

Now just remove the dialogue wheel and let ALL NPC's be killable in every difficulty setting INCLUDING in the Survival Mode.

Then I will be very happy and probably finally purchase the PC version of Fallout 4 (I don't like Steam though, maybe if we PC gamers ever get a gog.com version sold as well).

That's exactly why I'm doing this play-through with resource scarcity. My other two characters had no restrictions on stimpaks and Radaway and they still managed to accumulate packs by the 100s before reaching the final quest, even though they never, ever bought any (just found it all over the place). Their ammo stocks were in the 1000s, even for hard-to come-by ammo. Hehe I have no idea why I kept collecting stuff. Habit, I guess.

I agree with you on divorcing scarcity from bullet-sponge enemies. I hope we'll be able to select a Damage Difficulty and a Scarcity Level. Mix and match would be ideal.
