Big Mountain and the BoS

Post » Mon Mar 31, 2014 7:52 am

I've been contemplating this in my head for a while now and still can't find an answer,

It's obvious the BoS know about Big Mountain so why haven't they gone to collect any technology from there?

Because if people like Elijah, Christine and Ulysses are telling you "I barely made it out of there alive," then you probably have a problem.

By themselves they had a problem but what I mean is why didn't they go in force and take it?

50 BoS Paladins would have no problem at Big Mountain

They don't know much about the place. You don't go full force into a place you know little about. Sending 50 or more people into the place without any real intelligence on the area could be to great of risk and end up with them all killed.

Also would the BoS at this point even have 50 BoS Paladins or more to spare for such an attack?

Tell that to the army of lobotomized victims that probably thought the same.

Hmm, I didn't think about that. I just assumed that they knew it was a place of amazing technology and want to go there. But your right without real knowledge of the place I don't think they would risk 50 paladins

Thanks :)

Suppose the real question is why haven't the BoS already dealt with Black Mountain? Given the history between the super mutants and the BoS I am surprised the BoS haven't attacked the force of super mutants practically next door. I get their disarray after Helios One and McNamara's wish to hide in the bunker to preserve the forces he had left, but still.

I just don't think they have the rescourses

I also don't think they have a big enough reason to. Black mountain doesn't even know about the BoS so they aren't a threat at all really

Black Mountain and the BoS had a truce from what I recall.

That truce ended when McNamara discovers the fate of the dead patrol.

The orginal Super Mutants at Black Mountain were there because of Marcus. But then Tabatha came along and ruined it. So Marcus and the good super mutants left. So if there was some sort of peace agreement between the BoS and Black Mountain, it would have been made under Marcus.

But in the end it is a heavily defended Mountain with Super Mutants and Nightkin. The BoS had their ass handed to them by the NCR... so I don't think they are in any shape to take on Super Mutants.

I think the location mentioned in the thread is the big MT=The location of Old World Blues

If we talk about the Black mountain, i read in TVtropes that the BOS didn't attacked the Black Mountain, because it is led by Marcus (who was the big old pal' of their paladin Jacob)

But i heard nothing about that in the actual game dialogs...
