A big thank you to Bethesda!

Dear Bethesda,

I as a gamer do not see what other gamers commonly see in games.
I search for good settings, serious art design, and atmosphere. Hell, I even play boring games if I love the setting. I finished Hellgate: London.
With the trailer of your latest Elder Scroll's game you have reminded me that you are one of the few developers who make exactly what I cherish in games.
So many good games are ruined for me with a lack of immersion. Games like Diablo 3, Assassin's creed 2 and many, many more. . . (Japanese games by default.)
When I watched your trailer I thought It would be the kind of game that wants to appeal to everyone by sticking to immature and dull action and a 'cool' art style.
Instead, the lifelong dream of mine to feel completely immersed in a medieval-looking fantasy world seems about to be realized.

It really seems like Bethesda Game Studios is right now, along with Obsidian Entertainment, Relic Entertainment and GSC Gameworld of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fame, the only Gamedesign Company I respect.

And for that, I wish to thank you.

Why thank you. It does often seem to me that Gamers who like realistic settings, atmosphere and gameplay are overlooked alot.

Well AC2 no doubt had better gameplay and was much less repetitive. I just liked the setting a whole lot more in AC1. Less jokes and references (it'sa me mario!) and more simplistic character designs. But as you said, to each their own. What may seem excellent to me may seem boring to another.

EDIT: When I look at Barbarian concept art for Diablo 3, and the poster boy for Skyrim (Dovahkin) it seems to me that Blizzard's forgotten what a warrior is. (A usually normal fighter as opposed to 100 pounds of muscle in 10 layers of armor. Oh and spikes and glowy bits everywhere ofcourse.)

GCS producers of Stalker is the only company i see interesting now outside flight and space simulations
Bethesda killed it with crappy diablo/wow gameplay, only a marginal interest remains.

I hope modders are able to revert this crap to attribute and skills again.

I am the exact same way. I get svcked into a good immersive game and I love it. The mods I make (and will make for Skyrim) are/will be of only the highest most immersive quality, for people just like us to enjoy. :D

I hope modders are able to revert this crap to attribute and skills again.

I think that once you play what they make you actually won't mind it, and if not, sorry. The systems like skills and attributes are hardcoded into the game engine (or at least they were with Gamebryo) , so they cannot be changes by modding and are a very difficulty thing to play with.

This is how I feel and no matter how many times I see a thread asking what games are there out there like Oblivion or Fallout3, for example, there is never the answer that so and so studio are making their games like this too. Either the world is never as open, or you can't play as a female or some other thing that I'm just not interested in. I like doing what I want wherever I want and how I want and they deliver on that 100%. I hope they keep doing what they're doing and don't bow to any pressures to change things. It's better to be unique and the best.

I feel you. I was so excited to finally be able to jump into an atmosphere like this once more, that I taped my pre-order receipt to my bedside table. :tes:

Even morrowind to me, back in the day, (which if you didnt know, was a wednesday ;]) was like this, and got me into TES series.

Ever since then ive never wanted to go back to a game like WOW or something, and bethesda has always acheived their goal of making great games.
