Biggest disappointment in the game?

Really. Maybe you're playing the right game but lack the mindset to appreciate it. A middle schooler could play both games and like Fallout 3 more because the story is dumbed down to their level, whereas New Vegas has a story that actually assumes an intelligent audience.

yeah...noooo...you think the New Vegas story line required any amount of intelligence? You're kidding right? Sure you get to make decisions, but any 4 year old could choose which faction to like, dumbed down as fallout 3 is, the 4 year old would probably like FO3 better (in this case because of the abundance of trains and one that actually works in Broken Steel  he loved that so much btw) but also because of the shock value...and again the trains

The same to you: Learn to communicate. Even if you're still in middle school (which is likely), the above quote is completely incomprehensible and your average sixth grader should be able to do better.

The story in New Vegas is far more intelligent than the story in Fallout 3. It's well constructed and has at least some moral depth to it. The story in Fallout 3 is so riddled with holes and facepalm moments that it's ridiculous that it got past rough draft, even if I ignore the fact that it steals from the first two games and is completely linear.

You really love to pass judgement on 6th graders don't you? THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH 6TH GRADERS! Some of them are really awesome :goodjob: jerkface.

What moral depth? If I want to gun down the little whiners in the Mormon Fort and again in Westside, are my morals going to stop me? Are any of the other factions going to care. We don't exactly have a moral compass over the radio telling us when we do wrong! :turtle:

If they actually are sixth graders, they're just kids and don't know any better. Though they shouldn't be playing either Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Prostitution and [censored] really aren't appropriate subjects for that age bracket. If they're actually 16+, I don't think it's wrong to call them on abysmal communication skills.

Now I feel old. *sigh*

...I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, so I'll assume you are.

Well, yes and no. New Vegas isn't exactly epic literature, but the issues dealt with aren't something your average moron will comprehend. Also, I need to remind you that New Vegas is getting praise this high in contrast to Fallout 3's story, which was complete garbage. Standing on its own I'd still say it's above average, but I don't want to give the impression I'm calling this the modern Shakespeare of video games.

Back on topic, and i've said it already, the "hardcoe" mode (massive sarcasm quotes) and the fact that difficulty was implemented the same way as in Fallout 3 (though atleast they removed the XP bonus). I just came across this quote from Dead Space 2 developer, and couldn't agree more (about the hitpoints) if i tried.

"What we found was that it wasn't really fun to continue to make the game harder by giving the enemies more hit points or giving you less bullets. It just crossed that line into frustration, and the combat doesn't really feel good when you jack up the enemy hit points... it makes the game feel crappy."

Though in New Vegas limiting ammo and medical supplies would be more viable as difficulty increasing mechanic than in such an action game.

And as a bonus ;)
Naturally, anyone who finishes the game in hardcoe mode will get a special Achievement or Trophy, but there's more than just that at stake. "There's some really, really cool unlock if you manage to beat [Hard Core mode]," he added.

I may have to try that hardcoe mode (note the lack of massive sarcasm quotes :hehe:).

Clean up time.

Edit: There is too much flaming, rudeness and personal attacks in this topic, I am leaving it closed.
