Biggest Fears

Post » Fri Apr 23, 2010 2:33 am

That after hearing our complaints about Oblivion Bethesda makes Skyrim 1:1 scale resulting in only two cities being included because they didn't make more because they were to big. So ultimately 90% of the main quest happens in those two cities.

That I'm going to hate the art/graphic style of the game.

Or that it'll be set as a third person RPG - Not sure why.

Half of the map is empty, to be later filled in by dlc

Considering that the west 1/4 and the southeast corner of New Vegas is completely empty, I now have a slight fear in that direction as well.

Oversimplification, abandoning of established lore, repetitive environments, Oblivion-style level scaling, that the game is in any way rushed/unpolished.

Oh, and cliff racers.

That the story line will be dull and boring and have no impact in the world.
also, why does everyone not want multiplayer, wouldn't that be kinda fun? I would have to say that I have a fear that there won't be multiplayer

My greatest fear is that the new person who has mantled Sheogorath will lose the war on ladders. Causing them to become the rulers of Tamriel. Issuing in a new era of a ladder empire. :cryvaultboy:

Other than that, level scaling in general. I,e monsters, equipment, etc. No incentive for exploration, dragons being over-done and Bosmer still being the laughing stock of Elder Scrolls. C'mon, they are supposed to be awesome! As others have stated, Fallout 3 has made me hopeful that most of my fears will be addressed.

BEARDS! :batman:

What Bioware did to Mass Effect 2. A completely "streamlined" version of the game -- something that caters to FPS gamers and mainstream gamers alike.

That the faces will look similar to the face models of Fallout 3. *cringe* Those eyes...such lifeless eyes...the hair...what awful hair...

I agree with this. Even the striked out part.

im afraid of it having no multiplayer, which im sure it wont.

afraid that spears will still not exist for some reason.

that there won't be crossbows, throwing knives/star, shurikens so on so forth.

that they will keep the awful straight leg models for beast races.

no children again.

and a lot a lot more.

That Skyrim will feature hordes of high-pitched dragons that dual wield laser gatling guns and constantly repeat "Septims Pl0X".

My biggest fear I'm sure many would say is quite irrational but I can't seem to shake it. It's that in the change from the old Gamebryo engine to the new improved one, some aspect of the charm or charisma from Morrowind and Oblivion will be lost, and Skyrim will come across as feeling like a totally different kind of game than the first two.

I fear that they will make the deep lore of dragons in the Elder Scrolls.....into generic fire breathing monsters that must be killed.

Level-scaling has always and will always be needed to some degree, else it'd get boring fast

That when you start up your brand new copy of Skyrim, we'll all be greeted by;

And the game will go down in history right beside the cake.

Here's the comparison... Morrowind is like real Dracula vampires; vamps from Angel, that sorta vamp; vamps like the ones in Daybreakers. Oblivion is like that prissy like skin turns to diamond in the sun vamp from Twilight, NO GOOD! I dont want Skyrim to be a twilight vampire.

That they shift the character models towards an exaggerated cartoony style. (No emo elves or Nords with 6 foot shoulders.)

One piece armor suits.

That you start off as a prisoner AGAIN

The Graphics "Improvement" will just be everything looking darker

Too much snowy wasteland aspects and no forests or swamps

not being able to ride the dragons. =)

Biggest fear? The world will end at 11-10-11.

That and if for some reason Skyrim ends up being a shinier and snowier version of Oblivion with no improvements.
