Biggest Feel.

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 7:36 am

What moment during a game, film, book or anything else did you have an ultimate feel?

My biggest feel was when Will Smith had to kill his dog during I am Legend, that sure was a super sad moment.

Movie - When Wilson floats off never to be seen again in Castaway.

Book - Probably something from Harry Potter, though what I'm not sure.

I'll just spoiler all of these to be safe

Spoiler

Film: Passion of the Christ. Whole movie essentially, but particularly the whipping scenes (many a tear was shed).

Game: Dragon Age: Origins- Morrigan leaving because I refused the ritual. Less 'I liked her character' and more 'CRAP SHE HAD MY GOOD MAGE GEAR'. :(

Book (that I can think off at the moment): Climatic event in A Game of Thrones on the steps of Baelor. (you know the one I mean fellow Ice and Fire fans)

Every part of Silent Hill 2 that had Angela. Mainly the parts where she is looking in a mirror holding a knife and the part where her and James are on a burning staircase. In fact, that character's scenes are what drove me to get help and actually be serious about it. Not assume there was no use in getting help for my depression or think I wasn't worth the time. It was like I was seeing a glimpse of what could happen if I didn't get help.

I didn't go through the trauma she did, but her reactions to the inner pain were so much like mine. I can't say I've played a game that actually helped convince me that there was hope except for Silent Hill 2.

Film

Spoiler
Films don't usually give me an impact of feels like other genres do as their stories are too fast paced for me to get to know the characters and actually care about whether or not they die or are hurt. Right now I'm thinking of my favorite films, The Cube, The Thing, Dawn Of The Dead, and I can't say I had a feel like I've had for other media. But there are two films which made me really sad.

Watership Down

Spoiler
The end, when the protagonist dies and runs away with the rabbit of death.

The Land Before Time

Spoiler
Little-foot having to deal with overcoming the trauma of his mothers death.

Animé

Spoiler
One Piece

Spoiler
Oh there are too many to list, seriously. Choppers backstory which is too complicated to explain properly on this forum. Franky accidentally sending his "father" to prison because of a creation he had made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZuPMasjJd0. Usopp running through town crying wolf in order to get over his mothers death. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYX5G-Noew0. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V0ylFSe3rw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4g6kP-mrTqs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pe1POp3w3c. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkgy-3gScWY. Shirahoshi witnessing her mothers death at the age of a toddler and her brothers having to make stupid faces in front of her to prevent her from crying as her blood power could crus h the entire Fishman Island if she does, so her brothers have to bear through the pain of just witnessing their mothers assassination and pretend that they are happy for Shirahoshi. (I just watched the last one I mentioned again to spruce up my memory and the waterwork came yet again. One Piece is a real tearjerker)

Too many to list. Too damn many...

Game

Spoiler
The Walking Dead.

Spoiler
When Clementine has to shoot Lee to prevent him from turning into a zombie I cried lots.

Book (comic)

Spoiler
The Walking Dead again.
Spoiler

Game:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare: The Marines getting Nuked while looking for a terrorist leader.

Call of Duty: MW 2: No Russian: This was the most stunning event I ever encountered in a video game.

Call of Duty: MW3: When Soap died: It's a Rarity that a game makes me speechless but that moment caused me to freeze for a while, I mean you play as him in the first two MW games and then seeing him die is like watching your combat buddy or best friend passing away right in front you...however the scene that followed that was a real treat.

Bioshock Infinite: This was the best game I've played since Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Duck Tails Remastered: Although I haven't played it, I've watched LP's on YouTube and it's wonderful.

Tom Clancy's EndWar: Probably the only RTS type game I've played, using the voice command really brings out this game.

In the book Flowers for Algernon. Pretty much any point where Charlie described his treatment by his coworkers, or his peers. He had a mental deficiency in the book and people treated him so terribly. What made it all worse was how he didn't even know they were being mean to him, and he just laughed along with them.

This thread needs more spoiler tags.

I get feels way too frequently to remember anything in specific in movies/games/books. The ending of Shawshank Redemption is great, though.

I may strongly dislike CoD multiplayer and gameplay but I did owned the first Modern Warfare and I do agree... The marines getting nuked was a bit sad... That and the ending. Hm. Though I'll admit this, I do like the storylines of the Modern Warfares (From what I've seen) but like I said, not a fan of the gameplay... Would rather just watch them like a movie.

Oh and about MW3, I strongly agree there. Seeing a character that you played as die... Ye'h...

Anyways...

Halo Reach in general... Especially the final ending cutscene. That's the first one that comes to mind.

Halo 4.

Spoiler
Cortana. (Did I spell her name right?)

Enough said.

Toy Story 3...

And more but my mind is too tired right now to dig into memory files XD.

Don't worry, I'll add some positive stuff in here.

Game: Halo 4, when you see that bright light for the first time after you crash land. I also have to give a nod to Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare, it was just me over anolyzing everything, but I often felt tense during it.

Movie: Jurassic Park when you see the dinosaurs for the first time, and also seeing the T-Rex, in Imax.

Book: Lord of the Rings, when Gandolf arrives at Helms Deep.

Halo Reach: I hated to what happened to Kat, I was starting to like her. Also I loved how Reach made you feel like you where winning then throws a curve ball your way and it all goes hell after that. I really enjoyed that game.

Halo 4: Yeah you spelled Cortana right :tops: .

How about certain feels we get when we listen to music?

Some music I can think of that gives me feels is Nate's Theme from Uncharted and various Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy music. Like Scherzo e Intermezzo from KHII and the Music Box from FFV. Those give me feels.

The http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87mWUoKhNyA#t=1m31s in The Straight Story.

Band of Brothers, when Malarkey collects the laundry.

That moment in the first few minutes of The Last of Us. If you've played it you know what I mean.

This scene from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIZl3ETOLz8 has been the only movie moment that's made me cry...it's so sad and any father could really relate to this scene and the one leading up to it where he talks about killing himself to give his son his heart.

In Red Dead Redemption, the part when John finally gets to see his family again...the ride back with the music playing felt like I was riding home to my family

Persona 3's ending. Dat music ;(

And The Walking Dead's (the game) ending.

I would go into some more detail but right now I'm afraid I'll screw up the spoiler tags, even though I'm positive I know how to make them :P I just don't want to risk it.

It's [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ] (minus the spaces) at the ends of the text wanted to be obscured, right? That's what I do (I'm on mobile), and it works.

Do a test run. Put anything in the spoiler tags and see if it works, then edit in your Persona spoilers and whatnot in the post.

I might do it later.
