Harold Holt going missing. Yes, Australia is the country so casual we misplaced our head of state. Not only that, it's extremely likely that he drowned, so what did we name in his honor? A swimming pool.

The passing of Heather O'Rourke and Princess Diana.

Headlines I did not enjoy reading.

Probably 9/11, though that depends on how the Arab Spring ultimately plays out.

GTA V's release. That was the day Rockstar saved us.

Probably for me personally it would be the moon landing. I can remember watching it on TV. Though the Cuban Missile Crisis was a big one in my youth as well. The whole world was very, very nervous at that time.
