So he is dead? I don't really care that much.

Anyone else worried about the fallout now?

Nope.

Why?

Edit. Ok teacher just bulled out a link to local news site that said that Al-Qaeda there is nuclear bomb in Europe, Al-Qaeda said that they will detonate it
if Bin Laden is killed or captured...

Nah, I'm not worried.

Massive props to President Obama. It takes some very large balls to send ground-ops into another country on a kill mission, and the political price of failure or capture were immeasurably huge. But he gave the kill order despite the risks.

Somewhere, there is a SF rec room that none of us will ever see, and on one wall, over the bar, will be a unmarked AKSU. No plaque or name, but the men in that room will know.

And finally: Rest in pieces you bastard!

I'm watching CNN and they are saying there could be nasty backlash from this by Al Qaida and Pakistan's.

Who is this Bin Laden?

answer found in the previous page

Nor did anyone say it did. It makes perfect sense to me that someone who lost someone to either the 9/11 attacks or one of the many other terrorist attacks Osama orchestrated during his miserable life would want to celebrate the fact the he doesn't get to eat dinner anymore.

The whole team on that operation would probably deserve a medal, seeing how many bullets a body might have caught then...

Why? The man responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent people is now dead. When Nero died the people of Rome cheered. When Hitler died the people of Europe cheered. Bin Laden has died and now the people of America cheer.

i'd say some thing, but i'd have to hold back a fair deal... i think it will suffice to say that there are more noble causes than discussion of deeds of another man who is known globally as either a blessed righteous hero or a evildoer, depending on who you ask. and also cases like this is where it is important to remember there is a fine line between judging constructively in a name of all that is good and plain judging [which i am sure everyone agrees that judging people is evil, yes?] and thus serve all that is evil. considering the state of affairs in the world today, that line can be crossed rather quickly, i think, no?

Oh, people in the whole Western world will probably cheer. And a day later this all will be forgotten when people calculate the cost. That's just human.

*sigh*
You just couldn't hide better? :cryvaultboy: Now I have to listen to another 2-5 years of brief 9/11 patriotism, idiocy, and bigotry. It was just dieing off. :sadvaultboy:

Seems like a Pyrrhic victory to me.

*predicts brief resurgence of bad kill osama flash games* The http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC4jZKSU8G4 is calling it.

I presume it must be hundred times worse if you're actually living there. My condolences.

Calculate the cost?

Probably from the reprisals that will be perpetrated by terrorists because of his death.

I'm only in Canada. Oh god... what if I was actually IN the states at this moment. Good god.

People only make this man a villain because they choose to, they gave him the attention he wanted. He won, he'll be remembered for a long time now just because so many people can't let it go. His memory will live longer than any of the people that now hate him. Kind of sad when you think about it like that.

I agree, the parties that are goin' on right now are terrible. Drinkin' this much in celebration svckS.

What do you mean choose to? The guy killed thousands of people in the Middle East and then he launched the largest terrorist attack on American soil. That sort of thing is not somethin' that is easily forgotten. When you are that evil you get remembered. That's just the way it works.
