I hope Obama comes on soon.

I also hope my Poly Sci exam tomorrow benefits from this somehow.

You know things are going to get shady now. Revenge for killing him and what not. Air travel will probably be really risky for awhile.

They didn't experience 9/11. They don't have a hatred for him like people who were kids when it happened.

Don't tell me hatred. Cause these people like him killed MY country's sons and brothers in Afghanistan during the 80s.

I do hope that this is true.

Just remember, this isn't making the Taliban go away. I imagine they'll be more disorganized though.

I predict that the Taliban will now go into a kind of Frenzy because of this. I could be wrong but i imagine the groups now sending out even more force against us, but at the expense of strategy and stealth.

they'll ultimately shoot themselves in the foot for that if they do it. But it'll be EXTREMELY dangerous during the short term

this is indeed a great day for America, one that will probably join the halls of WWII ending, just as 9/11 was compared the Kennedy Assassination and Pearl Harbor

Agreed. Yeah, we get it. You're part of the oh-so trendy Anti-American fad. I'm pretty sure most human beings, regardless of nationality can agree this is a good day.

The meaning of jokes is lost, apparantly.

Whatever, again I say it's a nice day for the world.

Ahahaha, apparently there was a joke last night at an event Obama was at about Bin Laden, and Obama laughed with the biggest grin, it just says "I know something YOU don't know!"

Odd that the new Skyrim news had just about twice as many people as this one...

Seriously, though, I'm glad we finally got him. It was a long time coming.

Hiding mostly I'd guess.

He's 70 years old and needs dialysis. I would guess - not much.

What tangible impact will his death have on the world, then?

Are you sure you don't mean Al Qaeda?

@Blackhand4 - unfortunately the whole "War on Terror" concept isn't so neatly wrapped up. You can never truly stamp out terrorism, not in the flawed world we live in.

On the other hand, I will agree: it's about damn time. I'm normally not one to go dancing in the streets on the news of someone's death, but in this case...I think I'll make an exception.

Also: President Obama's address is now starting. http://www.whitehouse.gov/live/president-obama-delivers-statement

So yeah, I'll just say what I said on my facebook status:

"Apparently Osama Bin Laden is dead.....is it weird that I couldn't care less? Because NOTHING will change."

I think they understand that he was a mother [censored] killer.

Doesn't matter, something like that is still barbaric.

Taliban (yep) and Al Qaeda will go into a frenzy, start launching hurried and sloppy attacks on US bases, and other installations. They will kill themselves in the effort, of course.

Obama's pronunciation of 'Muslim' sounds a lot like 'muslin'.

To be honest it's not really about you. More about everyone who lost someone on 9/11. Not trying to start a flame war, just stating the truth.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing because they will screw up or a bad thing because it results in increased harm to innocent people. Whatever the case, I personally couldn't care less if Bin Laden was dead or not (although I agree, he was a horrible man), but I only care about what this means for those of us still alive. Was the goal to outright kill him or would capturing him, for some reason, have been more beneficial? Simply killing a person for the sake of killing a person does absolutely nothing, in many cases, I'd say.
