Hrodger Was brought to Skyrim to make his fortune , his Father Gerald was a blacksmith who spent most of his time forging steel at his forge. His mother Selleen worked their families shop to take any new orders and handled the day to day business. Growing up in cyrodiil Hrodger spent most of his days around the Imperial Legion Soldiers who had grown fond of Hrodger’s Sense of Curiosity and courage for a young lad. Hrodger’s Uncle Haadgar was an Imperial Officer who had trained young Hrodger the way of the sword and shield . When not training with his crafts of war he would seek out his father to help around the Forge. He had quickly picked up the art of bending Steel and Iron to his will as he spent many years learning the craft. He had forged one of his greatest pieces for his uncle as a gift for the many lessons he had provided him. Selling his crafts was another fine suit he had quickly adapted to as he owes his mother Selleen for that trait

As he reached his teen years his sense of Pride and curiosity had grown immensely for he wanted to see the world and what it has to offer. On his seventeenth birthday he left his father and mother behind to pursue a career in the legion. Trusting his guidance and training from his Uncle Haadgar he went out on his first mission under Legate Tiberius to track down a bandit camp that had been hitting local merchant’s and pilgrims. Upon the arrival of the hidden camp he had came across a massacre as the camp had been raised to the grown with no survivors . Legate Tiberius had sent Young Hrodger and two other recruits to investigate the scene. Upon further investigation all the bodies had similar wounds , two bite marks on the throat and scratches on the bodies. Noises echoed threw out a cave near bye as the scream of men could be heard. Hrodger unsheathed his weapon and approached the cave as the other two recruits stood still in fear. One of the Recruits whispered in a shaky voice “Your not planning on going in there are you?” Hrodger stopped for a moment and turned around replying with “Your not a coward are you? Besides we have a job to do , and those may be innocent travelers , now lets go.” So the three recruits crouch low dwelving into the dark cavern as the screams grew louder with each step. The foul smell of death filled the entrance with an overwhelming Scent . As they continue to investigate the noises one of the recruits steps on a trap , within a split second a bear trap comes clamping down on his foot. He is sent into a howling rage as he furiously struggles to free himself. The second recruit rushes to aid his comrade as the noise they been pursuing became screams of help . Hrodger peers into the darkness as he see’s glowing red eyes approaching the three recruits. Within a second a dark shadow comes rushing out of the shadows knocking Hrodger back to the cavern wall. The Figure is revealed as a vampire one of Tamerials most feared predators. Within seconds the Vampire’s bloodlust is focused on the pinned Recruit as it pounces on him. The second Recruit watches in terror as he see’s his friend being torn apart from a the Vampires Ferocity . He takes off bolting for the entrance leaving both Hrodger and his friend to fend for themselves. As the second recruit nearly reaches the entrance he steps on a pressure plate that sends a swinging log hurling into his stomach instantly killing him. As Hrodger gains his legging he raises his sword and shield clanking them together to get the foul creatures attention. The vampire stops its feeding to turn its attention to its next potential victim. Hrodger Shouts out “ You want a piece of me you foul beast? I ain’t as easy , come and get some.” With quick reflexes the vampire had an advantage not to mention its greater strength but Hrodger had courage in his heart and fire burning in his eye as he prepared to defend himself against the attacks . The vampire circled Hrodger scanning his defenses as it made a swift charge . Hrodger raised his shield embracing for impact . The pressure the vampire provided against Hrodger’s shield was almost overpowering as Hrodger would bash the vampire in the stomach over and over again as he had guided the vampire up to the entrance where the broad daylight would be his advantage. Hissing and scratching provided to be worthless against the well designed shield. With each blow from the shield it gave Hrodger a second to sneak in a stab from his blade weakening the vampire with each strike. Slowly but surely he pressed the vampire back with each step the vampire knew that if he reached the sunlight it would be all over for him so with all his strength he rammed the seemingly indestructible shield . Everything was going as planned for Hrodger up until a sound behind him caught his attention , it was the most frightening hiss he had ever heard as he looked back it was a second vampire only this one was much bigger and looked even more angry . Hrodger swung his shield one last time as he completely knocked the first vampire back to where he was able to get a single well placed swing , lopping off the head of the tired vampire. He turned around to face his next opponent unsure of his ability to defeat it for he was already worn out. The two stared at each other looking for weakness in the other. Hrodger knew he may not be able to beat this creature with his trusted defense of his shield so he came up with a plan to cut this vampire down to his size . Hrodger circled the vampire clanking his sword and shield as he lured it to the right side of the cavern. The vampires beady red eyes beamed down on him as his plan was working thus far. A sound of a snap caught the vampire off guard as it had sprung a bear trap ment for unwanted visitors. The creature was stunned as it had flailed to free itself , Hrodger used this opportunity to pin the creature to the wall with his shield as he plunged his blade multiple times into the vampires chest . With a final blow Hrodger plunges his blade into the very heart of the beast , within seconds the beasts ceases to fight back , Twisting and turning the blade with every bit of strength he had , he finally slays the beast. Hrodger collapses from exhaustion. He had pulled himself up to survey the area as he slowly continues to investigate the cave. Deeper into the cave he discovers multiple merchants and bandits sprawled all over the ground. Knowing about the power to turn a bitten victim he pierces the hearts of all the bodies to ensure no one else falls prey to the wicked curse. Upon further examination he finds chests full of weapons , armor and coin that was heading to the fort he was stationed that was due to arrive within any day. His body weak from exhaustion he ventures up to the entrance to report to his commander where they stand at the entrance. Legate Tiberius walks to Hrodger demanding a report “What happened to the rest of the men” Hrodger replies with a Humorous reply with “Thanks’ for asking Legate Tiberius I am fine” With anger on his face Tiberius barks out “This is no time for smart mouthing , Where are the other men” with a deep breathe Hrodger replies “ They are dead , two vampires had been feasting on some Merchants and bandits. I am all that remains.” with that reply the other men were uneasy for a vampire sighting was rare. Hrodger follows up with “Don’t worry Cowards both are dead” upon saying that Hrodger collapses.

This concludes the first chapter of Hrodger the Unwavering. I am still working on his character but this is before he was captured by the imperials on his way to Skyrim thus entering into the begining of ES Skyrim. Hope you enjoyed it.
