Anyway, I can't wait until DA3 gets released.

Yeah, me neither.

And seriously guys, just because they've briefly announced that they're working on it doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be rushed, it just means they've started working on it.

Buh... duh... puh.

I enjoyed DA1. But then I saw some screenshots of DA2 with the main character wielding a huge ass sword, and I vowed not to play the game.

Seriously, I think it's crap.

And while that series thing is true, I'm not paying money for something which could potentially svck. If I'm bitten once, I won't risk being bitten again. ;)

Well there is a demo you could play before buying (or not buying).

Not that I'm encouraging you to play it. I think it's atrocious.

Yea, I played DAO in February this year, about a month before DA2 launched. I really enjoyed it. Finished at the 60 hour mark and did pretty much everything minus DLC.

Then about a month later the DA2 demo hit. It was bad. Real bad. I had read that EA BioWare was going in a different direction for DA2, but I didn't think it would be as drastic as it ended up being. How anyone can like being forced into one character after being able to choose your own in DAO, and repetitive bland environment after repetitive bland environment is beyond me. EA BioWare is dead to me.

There's no way in hell this series is now the spiritual successor series to the Baldur's Gate series and there's no way in hell I'm ever considering such a rushed piece of garbage product as the likely upcoming Dragon Age III to be the replacement for Baldur's Gate V. I actually thought Origins was pretty good, aside from a lot of technical issues and the seemingly most inefficient game engine ever to grace this console generation, but from what I've seen of II, I'm not happy, and the comments made by BioWare about sticking to II's formula and the rushed announcement of III pretty much confirms III won't be much better.

Yup. This game is under watch, though I am not keeping my hopes up. I will stick with the original for now.

Well, yes. Everything can potentially svck. And yet you buy things, don't you? Ergo, you are not making sense and, as I've had ample opportunity to demonstrate in real life (on the Internet (on these forums especially) especially), I think that people who don't make sense are a problem.

What's the problem? That's exactly what they are. Their current work is under the EA BioWare label, which is vastly inferior to their BioWare work without the EA label. I think it's very important to differentiate the two. It's like they're two separate companies now. I'm not going to fool myself, or anyone else.

No Veeno. It's a game continuation in a series. I'd have to

1) Know what happened in the 2nd game.
2) Since I don't like the 2nd game, I assume the third game will also svck. Why should I have any hope it will be good? Especially considering Bioware lately.

There's nothing which "doesn't make sense".

Do you understand my coherent ramblings now?

This time, you won't have to press a button for something awesome to happen. All the awesome will just happen by itself. Character customization will also be taken away completely. This is all to ensure that the storyline gets as cinematic as we can make it!

Half-Life: Blue Shift svcks compared to Half-Life way more than DA2 svcks compared to DA:O. One game in a series doesn't mean anything.

Depends on how much you liked or disliked whatever aspects of the game they changed.

IMO ONLY PERSONAL OPINION ALERT:

DA2 really svcks. Because of what they changed, restricted, rewrote, ignored, and short-changed the player on. They took out choices and forced players into generic stereotype characters. The combat was sped up to cartoon levels. Conversation and dialogue was not up to what they did in Origins. Some of the quests were downright ridiculous [returning a chunk of rotting corpse to the next of kin that you psychically discovered, to hear "Oh my, I thought I'd never see that again." and you couldn't even reply "Well then, don't go exploring the one cave in Kirkwall while carrying your family member's rotting body, okay?] That's ignoring the [censored] templars who never react to you using magic in front of them at any point in the game, even before you are rich and "untouchable because of your position". I won't get started on the "unique" companion things that I didn't like, the least of which was the "wearing lingerie in a fight" part. I could keep going, but I'll refrain.

Suffice it to say that I will not be buying DA3 unless a lot of things change from DA2.

Since the multiple posts on the EA social site/EABioware forums by devs and their community manager kept saying "EA is Bioware, Bioware is EA" I started using EABioware. As opposed to the old Bioware, that only had forums and not a social site tied to your game account.

Those are a lot of good reasons why I don't like DA2, but even if they'd all been fixed, I still probably wouldn't like the game because of one thing. The recycling of environments was unforgivably lazy in my opinion. Being the huge fan of open world games that I am, something like that was a huge deal breaker for me.

Since the multiple posts on the EA social site/EABioware forums by devs and their community manager kept saying "EA is Bioware, Bioware is EA" I started using EABioware. As opposed to the old Bioware, that only had forums and not a social site tied to your game account.

This reminded me: Did EA Bioware ever make a statement or change anything about that guy who couldn't play DA2 because he was banned on their forums? That worried me a lot, but I lost track of what was happening with it.

I'm not surprised but I hope they take 3 years to develop it instead of the 18 months that they took for DA2. If they don't work on fixing the problems that the series had and take the best of both Origins and DA2 and put that into DA3, then I'll pass on getting it until the price drops.

He was banned for trolling the forums, accidenataly he was banned in a way that also prevented him from playing the games (though i still don
't undertsand how they could possibly prevent playing a game that can be played wihtout an internet connection ), and accers was retuned to him. In other words, don't break the EULA and you're safe, despite your personal opinions :)

Can't wait for the marketing campaign: "Press a button and awesome new [censored] happens!" :lmao:

I'd throw in another trite, sarcastic comment but I think you all have covered it.

DA2 was nothing I wanted it to be. I highly doubt I'll invest anymore time into this series.

It will take place in one room and any characters that Bioware liked, that you killed, will be retconned in. In fact, everything is being retconned back in. If you don't like it, we'll ban your games from entering our server, then you can't play! Isn't Project $10 great?

You forgot something.

Every npc is bisixual and a tacky romance can be pursued with each.

In fact, to cater to every need, you can also pursue relationships with items of clothing, weaponry or furniture.
