It's a bird,it's a plane, it's---another Superman?

Looks like they're doing a re-revamp of Superman and this time using a new actor. Frankly I liked the Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman, he did a good job I think even though the scrip could have been reworked a bit. Sorry but the kid in the film could have been Sup's kid, but if you remember in Superman II (and no I don't consiter the Richard Donner version canon. I consiter the one I first saw canon) Clark had "snu-snu" with Lois AFTER he lost his powers. There for the kid would have been a regular person. So how did ther piano kill the bad guy you say? Either the boat hit a wave causing the piano to come lose and whammo or the kid had a boost of adrinaline and shoved the piano while the boat hit a wave who knows it was off camera when it happend. But what about his reaction to the Kryptonite? The kid could have just been really scared of Lex Luther and had no idea what he was going to do to him. Heck have a mad man wave something in front of yea, you'll be scard too.
Anyway they're using a new actor who really doesn't look like he'd make a good Superman so I might skip this next film.

Super-Man is just too perfect for me. I never feel scared that he won't win. I easily prefer Batman or Spider-man because they have problems and it's never absolutely sure that they will win. Besides, with Batman you get all of the cool sneaking about and detective work :D

Bah! Superman the feeble son of Jor-EL!

They should make a film about the great General Zod! About how he conquered and rules the planet Houston. He was born in a lava pit on the firey suface of Krypton he is truly great! Kneel before him!

KNEEL!

So it's an adaptation of Superman: True Brit, I guess? ^_^

True. I went from
"Oh, Thor... Well, they want the Avengers."
to
"OMG DIRECTED BY KENNETH BRANAGH AND ANTHONY HOPKINS AS ODIN???" :celebration:

I am so sadden that Hollywood had to do a redo. Why? We all know the history. We just had Smallville wrap up soon. So why do we need a redo? Are we that pathetic? Is this how Hollywood treats us? What is next? A redo of TES?

I was so looking forward to Superman dieing at the hands of Doomsday. Alas we need to see the rebirth of Superman again. This is what? 3 or 4 times in 20 years? It might have been nice to have Tom Wheling (sorry I think I spelt his name wrong) the one who played Clark in Smallville, to be the next Superman espically if it's a redo.

It works by Super-Hypnotism, of course!

I actually do think I once read that there was at least once an explanation that that's how it works, or some other thing similar, but that was back when writers could make up any new power they wanted for Superman as long as they added "Super" before its name. I'm not sure if they're trying to explain it now or just leaving us to accept that it the glasses fool people just because it's always been like that, and if they gave him a more plausible disguise they'd be accused of butchering the character.

But on the subject of the movie, I'm not at all surprised they're making another Superman movie, but looking at the picture in the link, I don't think the choice of actor for Superman looks like what I think of when I think of Superman, but since I'm not familiar with him, I wouldn't know if he can act the part, and who knows, maybe he'll surprise me. I've seen some movies based on comic books that I've enjoyed, at least, but of course, there have also been bad ones, but at least I've had more good experiences with them than with video-game based movies.

I kind of wish that they'd make more movies about slightly less well known characters, though. Even people who've never read a single comic book before probably know who Superman, Batman, and Spiderman are, so it's not like we really need another Superman movie (As much as we can need any movie.) but there are also characters I haven't seen in recent movies that I could see making for good movies if put in the right hand, but I guess that's not likely to happen since less well known characters are also likely to mean less profit.

I have never liked Superman, not his red underwear, but his amazing hairdo disguise that can fool anyone.

Funny story, my dad said when he was a kid in saskatchewan, he was riding his bike as a kid just outside his farm and some security guys stopped him and told him a film was being shot. He turns and sees Chris Reeves and a whole bunch of film crew following this train for this one scene in the first Superman movie.

It's kind of neat to watch it and see that scene and know my dads farm could be seen somewhere in there.

Making another Superman movie is like making another Neverending Story movie... it would svck.
Speaking of bad movies, I'm never going to watch ANY new sequels.

Superman 14 The Never Ending Sequel
Clark Kent must travel to a mystic world, on the edge of destruction, and rescue a civilization, before they are atomically dissasembled.
To fufill his quest, he must find, tame, and combine intellectual forces with the Last Luck Dragon.

To me the "movie world" owes us a good Superman Vs Doomsday movie be it Live Action or Animated. That Superman Doomsday movie was just downright horrible imho and was way to tame compared to what it should have been. Wanted to see superman having to forgo his "Boyscout" motto and having to get down and dirty fighting doomsday. Talking about superman snapping doomsday's arm or breaking his ribs in an absolute fight to the death.

I take it you never seen the PATHETIC animated version of Superman vs Doomsday I take it. I was PISSED after watching that, saying how they can butcher a classic (in my eyes) and make it so non chalent.
