Birth Control in Tamriel. : The Elder Scrolls Series Discussion

Is there any form of birth control in Tamriel?

I did read in Barenziah the Emperor made her have an abortion, but I'm curious because in both Oblivion and Morrowind there aren't huge familes with like 16 kids...

Also I heard that the Romans had forms of birth control... And alot of upper class families only had 1 or 2 kids as a result, as opposed to 20 kids like in colonial America.

Its possible that certain herbs or plants or potions concoted from them might have the effects of birth control.

Though underpants seem the most effective.

they don't. after they lost nudity (and six) with morrowinds release no one bothered. (Though if you'll notice, naked men in daggerfall were already, lacking....)

There were a few kids here-and-there in Daggerfall, although the ratio of kids to advlts was certainly disturbing. I don't know how the townies keep their numbers up from generation to generation.

Of course, those few kids up in the Iliac Bay will probably grow up to be [censored]s anyway. Their parents always leave them unattended in taverns and other shady places...

As Allerleirauh once speculated, we can assume the elves aren't fertile at all times the way humans are. Given their lifespans, if it were otherwise the population of Tamriel would be almost all elven.

Probably the Dibellans are knowledgeable about contraceptive potions and the like.

Guess it doesnt really count but one mod I found called ''Mountain Shack'' it has you fix up a cabin for your own use and it comes complete with a outhouse in the back
