[SURVEY] Birthsigns Expanded

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:50 am

This is primarily a poll for existing users of my http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12149 mod. Interested non-users are free to comment, but probably shouldn't fill out the survey without actually trying it out first.

I'd like your feedback and input! In addition to the quick survey above, I would love to hear in-depth commentary, positive or negative, on all of the signs. The last version of B.E. has had ample time to sink in and I want to hear what really works, what really doesn't, what's exciting and what falls flat.

This is not a thread for bug reports! Please post those in my http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1049541-relzwipz-tejons-thread-o-mods/. If you're interested in more info about this mod, you should also check there.

There is a sister thread for TRAP, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1088438-survey-tejons-racial-adjustment-package-trap/.

Do we take your 6 months-long D&D campaign to be a success ? :P

More responses to TRAP than B.E. so far? That's honestly very surprising!

Could I entice anyone to give some extra details, especially for signs they dislike?

Hey!

I can't really give a use-related reply here, because I've been away from Oblivion for close to a year now and ever since I got back I'm still installing and tweaking.

However, I will say that I've been using Birthsigns Expanded for quite a while now. The last time I recall, I was using The Mage with success and thoroughly enjoying the experience.

I will get back to you with some suggestions if you're looking for them. I'm really tired at the moment though so I'll just cover some basics.

My favourites are probably The Serpent and The Shadow, though I haven't used the latter yet, nor the last version of the former.

I think The Lord is the one I'll play with this time around. It would probably come quite close to the above two in my preference order, if not at the same level.

The Ritual and The Atronach follow suit. Then The Lady (not that she's not as cool, but because it doesn't really feel like "me" playing something like that). Thing is, I'm not a many-characters-type-of-guy so I've only ever touched on any of these through my playing experience. Some of them are out of what could be called my gamestyle, but that doesn't mean they don't sound interesting.

You might have noticed that I seem to favor the ones with non-vanilla mechanics and feel. I liked the Mage and appreciated its flexibility, but I don't think it could change the gameplay as much as those mentioned above.

The one I would say needs looking at most is The Lover. Overall, I'm happy with all of them, but I'll always go looking for those that make playing through the game a different adventure altogether.

That's my take on it anyway. If I get any suggestions or further comments, I'll get back to you.

Cheers!
