I have a problem and im not happy about bethesda right now... I bought TESV a couple weeks ago and i barely have been able to play it. YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY??!!?? Bethesda LISTEN I AM AN IRATE CUSTOMER! I've bought your game AND THE DLC all for the purpose of modding!! AND WHAT DO I GET?? CONSTANT CRASHES! I could barely afford the game anyway!!!! SO I'm going to get to the point and only that :stare: MAKE A FREAKING 64 bit exe so that i can mod it! THAT IS ALL IS IT SO HARD TO WRAP YOUR HEADS AROUND THIS????? 64 bit exe PLEASE i beg you! I bought the game, SO LET ME PLAY IT! Honestly i am dicuisted at the quality that you have left out for the community that has good enough computers to play this... I SPENT $1000 ON A GAMING RIG SO THAT I COULD PLAY EMMERSIVE GAMES!!!! LIKE SKYRIM!!! So, once again.. FIX THE DAMN GAME AND ADD A DAMN 64 bit EXE! im done here.

Plenty of people play Skyrim just fine without any crashes, myself included, and we use the same 32-bit executable as you. The cause of your crashes lies elsewhere.

Yeah, my experience is that Skyrim is more stable than any previous Elder Scrolls game.

A 64bit exe is extremely unlikely at this point. There haven't been any patch for Skyrim for a long time, and Bethesda announced over a year ago that they are done with Skyrim and is now working on their next unannounced game instead of Skyrim.

You must be new to modding. I play with 250+ mods yet I rarely crash. Though I admit in the beginning I crashed several times an hour due to my own incompetence, not realizing Skyrim had such a stupid RAM limit and that ENBs free up said RAM by handling the graphics side, leaving the rest for scripts.

What you have probably done is installed tons of graphic and script heavy mods, not arranged them via BOSS nor cleaned them, not downloaded the subsequent compatibility patches, not sorted them into a proper load order and also have probably not downloaded an ENB.

If you need advice/guides on how to mod, check out https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE7DlYarj-DdhDG41roBVJfNCqvO5MmKP.

I got 196 active mods with very little issues.

Like Vaen said, its how you mod and knowing what your doing.

A native 64-bit .exe for Windows XP to Windows 8.1 would be nice. I wish Bethesda Game Studios would add support for 64-bit .exe for the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

250 mods here in windows 8.1 and the only crashes I have ever experienced are if mods conflict with each other, but that gets easily sorted out. :)

The last 2 TES games were very stable on pc. Especially Skyrim. I installed over a 130 mods and yet, Skyrim never ever crashed on my laptop. But that's probably because I had a lot of modding experience from Oblivion. So I guess you need to work on your modding skills, or reinstall Skyrim. Might be your modding skill, might be your installation.

When installing mods you have to read carefully. Especially the compatibility paragraphs. Also before you install a mod, think carefully if that mod might conflict with your other mod. I don't know about any mod cleaners for Skyrim, but if there are any, use them. Also, use NMM and LOOT(A brother of BOSS, another load order sorter). Your load is very important.

P.S: I recommend you to stay off the overhauls for a while if its indeed your mod skill that's causing problems.

Good luck! I hope you fix your game. :D

It's not just modding skills. Stock Skyrim will crash if it's memory usage exceeds 3.2GB. It will also crash/freeze/go infinite loading screen, if it has to load up more objects than it's preset buffer pools can handle.

Nowadays, most of us heavy modders nowadays, use:

  • Boris Vorontsov's ENBSeries for Skyrim, which deals with the 3.2GB limitation, even with the visuals turned off.
  • Sheson's work, now implemented into the latest http://skse.silverlock.org/, which deals with the buffer pools size. It won't do anything unless you set it up in SKSE.ini so, make sure you do.

Although it would be nice, the 64-bit exe version of Skyrim will never happen. All work being done on Skyrim was done over a year ago. The game plays perfectly fine as it is if your PC can handle it, even with quite a few mods. If your PC meets the recommended requirements and you are getting crashes then something else is wrong and a 64-bit version would not change that.

Barely any issues.

I am somewhat new to modding, and only carry about 100 mods. I did not have to spend $1000 on a rig to play Skyrim. My pc is 4 years old, has windows 7, and is a 64 bit. I only had to put in a new graphics cards and power supply. With help from friends, I learned that in order to play Skyrim with mods, you need to have things like SKSE, LOOT, Wrye Bash, and a few others. It was not an easy lesson for me to learn.

But any of the experienced modders out there can tell you that one learns from their mistakes and also by asking for help. Kind of stupid to blame Bethesda because you are having trouble playing Skyrim with mods. As stated above, there are plenty of reasons to have the game crash even without mods.

Like the others said, if you do not have SKSE, LOOT or NMM/Wrye installed, install them. Even if you think you won't need them, just add them. And I took a look for you at ENB. I recommend you using that too. I guess you didn't buy a 1000$ gaming rig just to play Skyrim on vanilla graphics. :P I recommend starting up a clean install(new installation) of Skyrim, following the instructions for ENB very carefully, and install it.

But before you do that, install the Unofficial patch, SKSE, NMM, Wrye and LOOT. Those are the basics for a stable game. NMM for auto installs, Wrye for mod checking, and LOOT to fix your load order.
