64-Bit Windows 7 Home Premium Compatibility?

Post » Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:57 am

Will Skyrim run on 64-Bit Windows 7 Home Premium? And if Skyrim runs on 64-Bit Windows 7, will it run smoothly?

My System specs are: Intel Core i3 @ 3.1 GHz; 6 GB RAM; nVidia GeForce GT 430. Will it run Skyrim well?

Thanks in advance!

It should run windows 7 can be annoying when gaming but it works especially 64bit you have a good amount of ram a mid-high end graphics card your cpu isn't spectacular but it won't hold your gaming experience back and it will last you a while also I recommend next time use the unofficial can my computer run skyrim topic

Yes it will run in the OS. As for your rig, it depends on your resolution. You will easily run at the 360/PS3 settings so what you see in videos and screenshots, you'll get at least that. Since we don't have any testing yet other than on the 360, that's the only way to differentiate.

I think they said there wouldnt be a 64bit compatibility, but that should come later with a mod or some patch, and 4gb of ram is pretty much enough to play any game. It will still work though

Aye, but let's not confuse him, the game will still run beautifully, it's just that the game's format won't be 64-bit. Your OS can be 32 or 64-bit, it doesn't matter.

Guess we can only hope they release a 64bit patch

Your CPU is fine, your GPU is what's holding you back, don't expect more then medium settings at 1080p. Also Skyrim will run fine on 64-Bit Windows.

Aye, GTS 450 is a good cheap card for the game. They're cheap now and you won't have to worry about PCU's and cooling modifications when you upgrade to the GTX 500+ line.
