Bizarre error only when playing NV (no harddisk found)

So after trying out the FOOK-PN-Everything Convergence mod, and uninstalling it because i realized I really didn't care for FOOK or WME, I reinstalled WMX, PN, and their respective patches.

I load up my game, get the "Save relies on content that is no longer present," which was expected, I never get these things right. But when changing cells, specifically from the Mojave Outpost barracks to the wasteland, I get an error message:

"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive.

\Device\Harddisk1\DR1"

Cancel Try Again Continue

If I try to alt-tab and close the message, the game crashes.

I would think this is due to a faulty mobo or hard drive, or bad connection (unless it's asking me for a CD, in which case I am dumb), but the fact that this error only happens when running New Vegas confuses the hell out of me.

I've tested this in pretty much every other game...
