hi guys.

it seems like im having textures issues.

sometimes i see black textures on the ground in the far distance (only visible in rural areas). only when i get closer the textures load in.

its just loading times for these textures is so slow or something that i can see the missing texture as black and ONLY if i approach it then the black is replaced with the ground texture.

i have some textures mods, but i uninstalled all textures related to landscape and this keeps happening.

i have win7 64bit, 8GB ram, R9 280 3GB vram, i7 4400 2.4ghz. regular HDD.

Have you tried a game cache verify?

Go into the data directory of FO4 and delete the meshes folder and the textures folder.

what kind of mod did you have installed? Anyway make sure your data folder doesn't contain any texture and meshes as said before. Also running a steam verify game cache make sure that all your ba2 files are correct. I have had issues with weird textures in few occurrences but unfortunately I was never able to pin point the exact cause, so my only suggestion is to try several things until it gets sorted.

i dont think a problematic texutre is the issue.

if i look at a rural distant area and there is a black texture on the ground and i save and reload that save - that texture will appear. it isnt a texture that is missing. its just not loading it right.

Post a dxdiag report inside spoiler tags.

Did you try to validate game files?

validating was the first thing i tried.

dxdiag:

1. Put your page file onto your D drive, that has a lot of space, or delete stuff from your C drive if you want to keep it there

2. Increase page file size to at least 16GB. It is currently being used massively by stuff, so also look at what junk software you have running in the background.

3. Why are you running at 1600 res when your native is higher? Run at your native resolution.

4. What game settings are you using?

DId you make sure to delete the textures and meshes folders?

1. my D drive is old and slow. i guess i will try putting it on E:, which is the same HDD as C:
but C: has like 100GB free. for 16GB page file why would i need more than 100 free GBs?

2. just define it in a range of 6000-16000 is ok? windows 7 will understand its 6GB - 16GB?

3. im running at 1680+1050 because my computer is connected to a TV and i usually game in front of the TV and i dont notice a difference between 1050 to 1080 or whatever native might mean for my computer or TV and i get better frame rate. so why bother upping the res?
is there a reason why i would want to run at my native resolution? (which might be 1080p)

4. game settings vary. its basically high but shadows on medium, textures on high (not ultra) and the rest are mostly on ultra or high.
