Black Reach

I just got in there today and oh my god, calling that place gigantic would be an understatement! I'm going on 2 hours in there and I feel completely lost and I don't even think I put a dent in that place yet. This is, by far the biggest dungeon I've ever experienced.

Yeah. It almost felt like it's own little underground country. I went into it under Alftand, but the place I came back to the surface was about 1/2 the distance of Skyrim away from where I went in. O_O

I'm not sure I would even classify it as a dungeon. More like an underground city.

I believe it's actually the largest city in the game, it's just inhabited by things that want to eat you. I've explored every inch of it by the way. There are some interesting treasures to be found in there. =)

Yes it is a great dungeon, spent a lot of time and effort and it came out great. Also the Area that is specifically called Blackreach is one of the most beautifull places in kyrim. On Par with Sovengard after you defeat alduin.

I believe the proper term is "Deep Venue" according to a book on the Dwemer I found in the game.

Yeah... Also an improvement over Miscacand, the "Elven City" from Oblivion you had to go into in the MQ. I remember thinking "Cool, an ACTUAL Ayelid city" and nope. I had this worry with Skyrim but the pessimism only made discovering it better! :celebration:

The UESP page for Blackreach has this image (link since I couldn't get it to insert)

Which gives you an idea of why it seems so big down there.

Blackreach is hands down, the most awesome dungeon environment (although the more I free explore in Skyrim the more awesome locations I run into).

Use unrelenting force on the giant ball of light in the center. You'll hear a ding letting you know it worked.
I don't want to spoil it, but be prepared for a fight. :)

I want to see a DLC/expansion sized underground area.

Blackreach is one of my favorite places in the game. I absolutely hated that I had to work my way through it as part of such an extended dungeon crawl, but I ended up going back three more times just to explore and it didn't disappoint. Even after collecting all the Crimson Nirnroot, I still feel like there's stuff there that I missed.
