Black screen but can still see mouse cursor. : Othor Games

Hey all, I need help.

So I did a fresh install of windows 7, and now when I get to the screen where I'm supposed to log on. The screen is just black but I can still see the mouse.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Not quite sure why I went down that line of thought but I do not believe it to be the issue so I deleted it.

It is failing to load the Windows GUI (explorer), hmm...

While this isn't a fix...

Press CTRL + ALT + DEL , select Task Manager. File >> New Task, type explorer . This should allow you to see your desktop, but it is difficult to determine the underlying problem at this point. Try updating your drivers, if possible.
