Black Swan

I saw it last night, and... wow that was good. My heart was actually racing when it ended. It was really gripping, it's like there was no falling action after the climix... from the time she went to the club to the end the viewer had absolutely no time to relax. I don't know how anyone can call it dull, unless they watch really screwed up movies on a daily basis or something. Oh, and the plot synopsis totally doesn't do the film justice.

Man that was such a fantastic movie...

I'm gonna watch it now. It'll probably last 30 mins longer if I have to rewind those six scenes.

EDIT: Just finished watching. Yeah, it was a good film. However, I kinda felt...it was pointless. It's like the movie built up to her going a bit bonkers and finding out she might be lisbian, and then

dying

You're not even positive if she died or not, though. I think the whole point was to say that it didn't matter: that she finally went off the deep end.

Black Swan truly is a masterpiece.

At the end, she became what she considered "perfect," and the entire movie showed what she went through to get there. That was pretty much the point of the movie. Her going mad wasn't what they were building up to.

Exactly. The film is about the pursuit of perfection. Everything else is simply part of that.

Definitely one of the most disturbing movies I've seen, but in a good way. I loved the way they portrayed how the girl (Natalie Portman) became so obsessed to become the Black Swan and eventually became insane. The part where she supposedly stripped off a part of her skin on her finger was really... agonizing. Can't find the correct word for it, but I think you know what I mean. Almost everybody in the cinema had this "look away" moment. Haha. Loved it.

Same thing happened in my theater, everyone was leaning as far back in their chairs as possible (including myself). There's something about peeling skin off of fingers or ripping off fingernails that provokes a much more intense reaction than simply cutting another part of the body does.

I think it's because it's more 'familiar' to us. I mean I can see myself peeling skin off my fingers by accident as opposed to losing a limb due to a chainsaw wielding maniac.

Exactly, it's easier to imagine what it feels like. Only then worse.
