Blacklight, a Morrowind city, perfect for DLC

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:43 pm

I was looking at the Oblivion era world map to see how Skyrim measures up, accuracy wise. I noticed Morrowind's sliver of mountainous land along the Skyrim border is topped by a city called Blacklight. Am I crazy or is that a perfect "back to Morrowind" DLC location? The way the map is it would be easy to include it but also have it cut off from the rest of Morrowind. It would offer a return to trip to Morrowind without being a place we have all seen before. It could offer real intriguing stuff as far as the evacuation of Vvardenfell and the current state of Tribunal worship in Morrowind and the Argonian takeover.

If not DLC, maybe a mod? Hoping to see it! What do you think?

Wasn't Vvardenfel essentially blown up by the explosion of red mountain and sunk by the tidal wave that followed?

I'd presume there is bugger all left.

Vvardenfell was only one part of Morrowind. And Blacklight (the former House Redoran capital) is on the mainland.

Morrowind is the province, Vvardenfel is the island that's gone. Here's a http://www.nerevarine.fr/images/tamriel.jpg, pre-devestation.

I, for one, would love this and would gladly give money for it.

Much would love Blacklight. I want more Dunmer lore. They seem to be resettling Morrowind, so I want more concrete lore.

Looking at that map, I hope Bethesda goes with two regions instead of one for The Elder Scrolls VI.

Hammerfell & High Rock?
Valenwood & Elsweyr?

Wow, I just checked it...It's quiet something.

And Morrowind got conquered by the Argonians, after that.

Hammerfell & High Rock?

TES2. It had the Iliac Bay region, anyway.

Personally, I'd like to go the opposite end of the spectrum and see some of Hammerfell that borders Skyrim - I think it's a potentially really interesting place and I'd like to see more of it.

Hammerfell and High Rock were basically already done with The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall
I guess technically all the regions of Tamriel have been done because of the first TES game, Arena :)

But yeah, I would like to see them do TES:VI in Valenwood/Elsweyr

If they made Elsweyr, I wonder if we will see the human version of Khajiit make a come back?

If I recall correctly, Todd Howard mentioned he'd like to revisit Daggerfall. Hmmmm...

I'm pretty sure they're scared to do the more alien provinces. More typical fantasy seems to sell better and also requires less assets and art design. It would not surprise me at all to have Hammerfell or Highrock be the next province, or a combination of both, despite already doing them in Daggerfall. On the plus side it could open up a LOT of avenues for fan service.

Personally I want Summerset Isle.

I loved the Blacklight mod for Morrowind. And I'd love to see Bethesda's interpretation too. Count me in.

How about the triangle area of Morrowind, from the top right corner of Vvardenfell, to Solstheim, and down to Blacklight. Would be pretty awesome.
