Blackrain The Land of Daedra OOC and Sign-Up

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 12:38 pm

First here's a list of the GMs and Co-GMs

Yes Man FTW: GM

Athell: GM

What's that your mom!: Co-GM

Blackrain, the Realm of the Daedra

After Alduin faced the Dovahkiin in Sovengarde his consumption of the world was delayed however the other dragons were not banished, let loose upon the land and freed from Alduin's influence some dragons went to Paarthurnax and learnt his way, some fled Tamriel across the sea but some stayed and unleashed their anger upon the land. This combined with the aggressive intentions of the various warring factions of man across the continent has left Tamriel broken and damaged and wreck of its’ former self.

In this destruction the Daedric Princes saw an opportunity for a game, a trial for mortals. They would create a new realm, it appeared as though the divines had given Tamriel a new realm, it appeared as paradise from the outside, but the inside was a god-forsaken wretched place.

It was then that they realized the depth of their deception, once inside the gates it became clear that this new land was not the utopia they had been promised, it was a twisted mockery of the land they once lived in. Cyrodill lay as a single island, but it's appearance was fairly similar to its’ former self. But, it was infertile and unused, only the Imperial City was a shining beacon, a great never ending feast was laid out in the Elder Council halls, calling the faction leaders to council. It however was not supportive of life, but it was symbolic. The rulers of the land would be called here to discuss their ideals, whilst the meetings were made for peace, fate has other plans. This land was created by the Daedra but it was created for the people who inhabit it now and in doing so the people will change this land to their whim and eventually one faction shall rule it.

This RP is a political RP that takes place in Blackrain, a realm forged by the Daedra to be a crude imitation of Tamriel. You can create a faction that uses these ranks. The faction also needs to have control of one of the previous major cities of Cyrodill, such as Bruma.

The Kingdom of Darkfall

Brief History: The Kingdom of Darkfall was formed by Fadril when the Emperor had fled. Fadril battled the Emperor as punishment for his cowardice, he then claimed control of the throne and killed the Emporer and all who resisted his claim to the throne. Miscellaneous Items: Arrows.
Personality: As a Ruler of a Nation he is respected, but he is naturally a cocky person who overestimates himself and his armies, but he can persuade just about anyone to believe he could do it. He hates beast races, especially Argonians.
Major Flaw: Overestimates himself, considers Elves and Humans as far superior to the beast races.
Background: Fadrill was born in Daggerfall, a city in the South West of High Rock. As the only Dunmer there he was an outcast and often looked upon as an inferior being. His Bosmer mom was murdered by the Dark Brotherhood. His Dunmer father decided to return to their homeland of Morrowind, where Fadrill often became the center of attention as his father joined House Redoran, as a member of a great house became essentially a nobleman with vast knowledge and his modern social skills. His father died after being marked for death by House Hlaalu. Afterwards Fadrill decided to practice the art of a warrior to hopefully avenge his family. When he became inducted into house Redoran the dragons began their rampage against Tamriel, like many others he fled, knowing no other way to escape.
That is where our story begins.

When the dragons began a rampage across Tamriel the Daedra tricked humanity into believing that the divines had created a new realm for all mortals, but the empire and the dominion believed it to be an insane rumor. Still, massive groups began migrating towards a portal that formed around all of the continents that sent them to Blackrain, the twisted realm of the Daedra.

Faction: Assassins of Blackrain, They can be employed to assassinate members of other factions.

Name: Leonde Maximus
Gender: male
Race: Imperial
Height: 5'5
Age: 51
Appearance: Has blue eyes. A "buzz cut" and very strong.
clothing: When he is not in battle he is wearing what appears to be a copy of the robes the Cyrodillic emperors wear. When leading a war he is wearing the same armor an imperial General wears. (If you don't know what I mean take a look at general Tullius armor.)
Class: Tactician.
Skills: He is very talented at speechcraft, heavy armor, , and is good with a sword.
An imperial sword: The sword he commonly uses when in combat.

Misc Items: A ring from his father, and some septims in which he uses as a currency for his faction.
Personality: Very intelligent both in general, and in military since. thus explains how he became a legate. He is also very well respected and feared by the other kingdoms for his brutality in warfare. And although he can be a harsh lord. When he is not away in conflict he is also a peaceful one.
Major flaw: He overestimates himself. and have a deep hatred of Hugh elves mainly because of the stories his father told him.

Background: Son of an imperial diplomat he was raised in Cyrodill sometime after the civil war in skyrim. And was raised to support the empire. When he was 14 he developed a hatred to the altmer mainly because his father told him of the horrors of the aldmeri dominion that his father told him about. When he turned 20 he sign up at the legion for life and spent his first 11 years stationed at a fort near Choral. At the time there were many bandits in the area and Leonde often had skirmishes with them. He proved to the legion of how capable he can be and had slowly risen through the ranks. By 31 he was now an centurion. Though he has heard of news that his father had died. He was sent on leave temporary to bury his fathers remains.

Leonde spent the next 15 years rising through the ranks where he eventually got promoted to a legate. Due to the chaos that has been happening since Alduin has been defeated a rebellion against the mede dynasty has started in the blackwood/southern Nibenay region. Leonde's was in charge of crushing it. However during a siege on Bravil get shot in the leg by an arrow and lacked the endurance required to be in the legion. He was honorably discharged. Several months later the revolt was crushed.

Leonde returned to his family home in the Imperial city. over the years he began a career as an adventurer. at 49 when travelling to Bruma he had seen a gate that looked like an enterance to a utopia he entered it.... Only to realized it was a trick. This realm was a place even worse than Tamriel at the moment. Though this "realm" seemed to look like a crude imitation of Cyrodiil. After seeing what looked like Anvil he sees nothing but chaos. He formed an army of people promised by him that he would restore civilization to this realm. After conquering some "tribes" withing the county anvil are he declared what he has own to be a separate kingdom. Leonde now has one goal. To unite all of blackrain under his banner and place civilation in form of the imperial empire.

Now here is a brief history of the faction.

The kingdom of Anvil was formed by Leonde Maximus by forming an army out of promises to placing civilization to this realm. After taking over the entire are violently it was formed. All who resisted was executed. the army called the Legion of Anvil was equipped with nearly identical armor and weapons used by the standard legionaries back in Tamriel. The armor include light, medium, and heavy armor. Officers would wear the same armor the legates wore in Tamriel. The military also was the bulk of the kingdom's society in which all capable males are to become part of it for 12 years at least. Also due to Leonde's hatred to them any high elves caught within it's borders are taken as slaves. And within the borders the law is enforced strictly thus making the kingdom having a low crime rate.. And n the military it is very strict and discipline.

Area of control: Anvil and surrounding area.

That's about it. What do you think?

Well that does remind me of the one time I tried to do a roleplay which died before it began. (look at my signature) However I'm pretty sure there must be a reason why we are not getting much people. Maybe they just don't like the idea for some reason. So if the other GM's don't come back we could always just restart it from scratch.

That probably did contributed to this. Well maybe we could either just let this die temporary and revive it in a month or a time where there won't be other roleplays posted, we could revive the invasion of whiterun. (the roleplay I tried to do) or we could just do a new one entirely. That is what I would do.

I don't know really. I guess maybe a lot of people viewed this as a crappy attempt of that one political one set in High Rock. So maybe we need to make it more complex. Or we could always do something like Valton.

The issue I noticed was the frequent spelling/grammar errors in the OP. While you still get your message across, it's awkward to read, and, even worse, it suggests some unfavorable stuff about you and your RP:
1) Either you don't know any better, in which case your writing talent would be questionable,
2) or you don't care enough to proofread, which implies that you don't care about the RP,
3) or you do know better and would proofread, but the idea just didn't occur to you, which suggests a lack of attention to detail, something that is quite important in running an RP.

That's what pretty much dissuaded me from joining.

Ohh, I proofread it when I was tired earlier, plus the OP's punctuation was glitching out on me, when I pasted it the punctuation would all go away. It has been a nuisance.
