Blackreach. Oh my holy mother

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 3:29 am

Is there any easy way to go back to Blackreach after you complete the quest that brings you there?

Yes, you go up one of the lifts that bring you to a different Dwemer ruin. Once you exit the lift you will have discovered it and it will be on the map. The next time you want to go there you just fast travel to that lift and take it down again. There are several map locations for them too. At least one is named 'The Great Lift of ...'.

It looks almost exactly like Deepholm in World of Warcraft, with its blue/cyan tint and floating particles. Even has the same kind of mushrooms and steep cliffs. The Dwemer architecture bears uncanny resemblance to the central pillar in Deepholm as well.

That's not to say it isn't awesome, though. It's my favourite part of Skyrim so far. It's just that I can't stop thinking about how much they're alike when I'm down there.

It can even snow down there and a named Dragon can spawn in there

That's how epic that place is.

I hope they make a DLC where you help the Falmers Servants revolt against there leaders, giving you more areas like Blackreach to explore.

There are several elevators inside Blackreach that go right up to Skyrim.
They end in those little box like rooms that you see near Dwemer ruins, those that only can be opened from the inside.

I out-loud said "woah, [censored] hell that is cool" when I went down there, I instantly thought "Morrowind/KotOR" with it's...coolness, I agree, best place in the game, no doubt.

Yea, I was blown away when I went into that area. The whole quest (no, I won't say what it is) was very long and that part of it is just a taste of the length of it. Just that quest alone could be a small DLC. The Dwarven Centurions were awesome and hard to kill too.

Lol. This is the first thing I thought when I got there. As soon as I can, I'm making Sindarian's lab into my own personal mage house.

I'm not talking about the Dwermer. If you go to Blackreach you will see that the Falmer have their own servants that are humans, elves, etc, and then you help them rebel against the Falmer.

Um, you can? All the Falmer servants attacked me on sight.

I say they make it a DLC where you help them, they obviously won't attack you if Bethesda makes this a DLC.

There are probably realms in Oblivion that look dozens of times cooler than Blackreach. I want them instead.

"Probably"? There either are realms or there are not. Funny you didn't cite any of them, because there are none. Skyrim brought back some of that Dwemer feeling that existed in Daggerfall and Morrowind.

I think he was talking about the unvisited realms of oblivion, not the game as a whole.

I spent 4 or so hours in Blackreach. Clearly the best dungeon so far.

Excellent job, Bethesda!

I absolutely loved blackreach... easily my most favourite dungeon in ANY rpg I've played.

I hope the DLC really expands on blackreach/dwemer... it kind of reminds me of the ogier waygates

Have you noticed the random Dwemer Centurions held in place on the pathways? I remember getting into a fight with a chaurus and all of a sudden we both got hit with all this steam, turn around and there's a Centurion shuffling over to us.

Also, GET THE NIRNROOT YOU NINNY. If you can get 30 (there's actually like 35) then you get a 25% chance to double any potion you make in alchemy.

Had that same feeling with the first LotR movie when they entered the big halls inside Moria *jawdrop* There's just so much there, I spend hours exploring and not just for the red Nirnroots. Did anyone also come across a giant?! I did get a couple of steam centurions but the giant almost killed me as I wasn't expecting it.

Yeah, getting to Blackreach through the main quest (Elder Knowledge) was hands-down the best experience I have ever had in a videogame. No exaggeration at all. I thought I knew what Skyrim was about after 40 hours, but I had no [censored] clue at all.

Can someone help me here?

I'm aware that there are lifts that take you out OUT of Blackreach, and they are locked from the inside.

I came there once for the elder scroll, and i used a random lift to get out. Problem is i dont remember where it is. The first dungeon Alftand it where you access it for the first time. The lift doesn't open however, so im guessing that's not the lift i took. Does anyone know the locations of the other lifts so i can get back to this place?
