Aiden stepped outside of the building, with all the mercenaries outside with their gear. Roy finished up enabling the computer lock on the door, and entered the vertiberd's cockpit. Putting on a headseat and starting up the vertiberd, Aiden entered into the co-pilot's seat. After everyone was loaded in, the vertiberd hovered into the air and flew off to the destination. Aiden turned back to the others.

"We'll be there in no time, just hang on for about five to ten minutes."

Aaron lit up a cigarette and looked around. "Anyone wanna bet that I get the most headshots?" He pulled out his .308 rifle and worked the bolt. "25 caps, kill count starts the moment we hit the ground. Anyone in?"

Gilford loaded into the transport and plopped on one of the refurbished seats. The nerves were getting to him. A bit light headed but hey, he'd survive. The nonchalance of everything seemed peculiar to Thompson. Hey everyone! Let's get on a vertical bird and fly off to kill some dead heads! He thought this was real life for goodness sake, not a comic book. Maybe this was one of his crazy dreams. Sooner or later he'd have to wake up to the comfort of his old friends over in Dupont Circle. Might as well enjoy the etheral ride while it lasts.

The ability to hold his own was at his highest concern. Gilford's pistol was the least bit stable. It'd often jam and misfire when he was in DC. There was no chance that it could've gotten better. What would happen if he wasn't able to use his pistol? Thompson still had his razor. Maybe some dead heads needed a good shave. Who was Gilford kidding? Himself probably. Maybe he wouldn't have to exert too much effort. These men are murderous mercenaries. I mean one of the guys is making bets to who can take the most headshots. If they're this confident in their abilities then this whole thing shouldn't be a problem. Gilford could only take out an old book from his bag and read to forget...

Rachael, not one to lend herself to conversation or pleasantries, had been quiet all throughout the meeting and boarding the Vertibird. She took up a position in the back of the craft, just barely able to scrunch her seven-foot frame in one of the seats. Thank Atom they were built for people wearing powered armor in mind or she might not fit at all. Strapping herself in was a trick, but she managed. For the rest of the trip she was quiet and kept to herself, not engaging in small talk or betting pools amongst the others. If one hadn't known her, they might think she was mute for as little as she actually talked.

Her reasons for being part of this group were unusual in and of themselves, but the truth of the matter was that she was in dire need of funds and there had been so little work lately. Super Mutant numbers had been dwindling as of late due thanks in part to the Brotherhood of Steel's efforts and Raider outposts were on the decline, requiring far fewer mercenaries to guard travelers as the more well-traveled routes were much safer than they'd been in years. Rachael needed work, and she needed it bad. Normally she wasn't one to join a group such as this, but she did admit to needing the social interaction as much as it frustrated her to engage in it and she knew the more social interaction she did get, the lest frustrating it would become. She only hoped that despite these men being somewhat humorous now, that when it was time to get the job done, they'd become serious. There was nothing she disliked worse than horseplay on the job.

(OOC: Man you guys moved fast.. I was taking a nap, dangit!)

Holding my axe close to my chest I muttered a quick prayer to myself, just because I was a Tribal didn't mean I didn't believe. Finishing off to myself I opened my eyes just in time to hear Aiden, yawning lightly to myself I just sat back in the chair more. My thoughts wandered about what sort of things we would truly encounter down there, tapping my fingers on the head of my axe I scowled lightly. Resisting the urge to sigh I looked over at the others and rolled my shoulders.

I towered over pretty much everyone else in the vertibird, which was of course why I concentrated on pummelling things to death with my axe. Well, not as such pummelling them, more like beheading them and generally butchering them. I just hoped that God oversaw all the things I'd done to other people, narrowing my eyes I stayed silent and waited.

With a raised eyebrow, Rachael took note of another person in the Vertibird who, while he couldn't challenge her for sheer size, was definitely up there. That made her feel a little better that she wasn't the only large person of the group. Maybe people wouldn't think much of it. She wasn't sure of his choice of weaponry, but well, he didn't have the issues she generally had with melee combat, so she couldn't really blame him. Catching his eye briefly, she gave him a very rare smile.

John sat down in one of the seats, shuffling to get more comfortable, the seats were designed for those wearing power and combat armour, laying his rifle across his lap, John lent back into seat. The roar of the vertibird's engines could be heard from outside. John was fascinated by it, he wonder if Aiden would let him poke around in it at some point, see if he could see how it works. John looked around, the two towering people seemed to stay away from the others, understandably though, they doubt they would mingle easily with others.

River was in his seat loading his rifle and AK, and then loaded them. River was a great shot and barely missed a shot and like a place they were going he was guessing it was a doal not to miss. The place was over run with feral ghouls so it would be best to have a knife always in hand for any snecky ghouls around the corner

"So guys how much money will me make"He asked

"Depends on how much caps Mayor Whatshisface has lying around" replied Aaron, tossing his spent cigarette out the window and lighting a new one. Aaron was trying his best to distract himself. The truth was, he was friggin scared of Ferals. He once explored and old metro tunnel, and a pack of them ganged up on him. He would have been mauled had not a tasty looking raider came from around a corner. "Saved by the a-hole." he thought to himself.

His eyes panned around the room at the others. The big ones caught his attention. Yasgurr and Rachael he heard their names were. He didn't like them. They probably thought that their size meant a bigger piece of the pie. "If that's how it's gonna work, those two are gonna have fresh holes in their heads." Aaron thought to himslef again, as he did often now.

"Don't forget mah guys!" Connor fastwalked into the Vertibird, his hair flying in many directions. He sat down on one of the seats and assorted his hair back into its original shape. He looked around curiously and was amazed by the inside of the Vertibird.

"Almost brings a tear in me eyes.." Connor fakingly wiped a tear off of his cheek and chuckled. He then took out his weapons, his double-barreled shotgun with the name "St. Patrick" written on the top with a white marker, then he took out his faithful revolvers, lastly with his Machete. He all inspected them and laid them to the side of his seat. He then checked his other provisions in his rucksack and pockets. All seemed fine to him.

"What a wonderful day, Laddies." He laid back into his seat and relaxed.

Connor laughing in comparison to River, but for his mis-understanding of Connor's Irish slang.

"Hell no my boy, I said Laddies, La-D-dies, ya know, it sorta means friend?" Connor took another short laugh, and then stopped.

"Sorry lad, I wasn't laughin' at ya." He made sure to apologize, as he noticed River's menacing Sniper and AK-47 strapped along his back. 'Eh..whateva." He looked around once more. When are we gettin' this hellhound movin'? He thought to himself.

OOC: Not sure if you can join but wait for PLR to come back and he might accept you.

OOC: I just got a PM and as such I'm collecting my thoughts over this... Apparently PLR got/is getting banned and as such... Well yeah, he asked me to take over the RP but I'm not completely sure as to whether I can do this up to his wishes and what he wanted with it. As such, I suggest we don't post for... A few hours, and I'll come up with something on my mind by then. Keep posting if you want, just don't move ahead because... There is no background to the story.

OOC: Oh no, I hope this isn't another RP doomed by my attempting to join it. I swear to god I'm bad mojo or something. I'll keep posting randomness in the Vertibird just to get used to writing Rachael, but that's all.. the least I can do is some character development maybe.

~

Rachael caught one of the others giving her a nasty look and frowned a little. She wasn't new to having rude glances cast her direction, so it didn't really bother her, but she hoped it wouldn't mean trouble in the future. If they were all working together, they had to trust enough to watch each other's backs and she sure didn't want someone shirking on their duty just because they disliked her for some arbitrarily unknown reason. Aaron, she recalled the man's name was. Whatever quarrel he had with her, she hoped it was something trivial that wouldn't get in the way of the job. Though, she thought, it could also just be that she was the only woman in the group. She had met her fair share of men in the merc business who took offense to women among their ranks. Oh if he only knew the whole truth about her..

Trying to ignore the little glare, she checked over her gear. At least it gave her something to do. She sure wasn't happy to learn that it was ferals that they were after. Raiders? Fine. Super Mutants? Whatever. Even Enclave would be preferable. It wasn't that she was afraid of them, quite the opposite. The problem was that they tended to swarm, making melee combat almost unavoidable. Rachael far preferred to kill from a distance and not get up front and personal with her quarry. This was at odds with her physique, but the truth of the matter was that it was much harder for her to keep a tight grip on her emotions when engaging in up close and personal combat. The last thing she wanted to do was lose her very carefully kept control in front of this group and give them even more reason to dislike and distrust her.

OOC: I'm sorry, I can't continue this RP, I'm in too many RP's to keep up actually being the head of one more. Kikaimegami? I think you should keep it going, no bad mojo if your the boss of it perhaps? I really can't keep this going myself, I'm in over my head with RP's. :)

OOC: Aw man, you had to ask me, didn't you? Do you know of a way for me to contact PLR to get any notes he might have written up on what he was planning? I'll have to reread everything from this thread and the other threads to get a feel for it and then fire up the good ol' Plot-o-Matic. I can probably do it, but I don't know if it'll be the same RP that PLR was planning on having since, obviously, we're different people. It's also up to the rest of you. Some of you probably already know my writing style and RP style, so you know a little bit of what to expect from me. If you're still in, knowing what I'm like, and knowing that the RP itself will undergo some changes, then I'll do my best for you to try and run it to its conclusion, at least for this section, then see how things go from there.

I will warn you all that I'm a much more laid-back RPer (if you're not familiar with my style). I don't like fast RPs where you make a dozen posts in one day. I like ones that take longer, that you might make a post a day, or even less often, but those posts are longer, made up of many paragraphs. If fast interaction is needed between a small group of people, then that's cool, but I wouldn't expect everyone to be on the ball every day of the week. I like more thought-out posts that go into greater detail. It's more like an interactive story, if you want something to relate it to.

OOC: That's okay with me Kikai, I sorta prefer it because of school, homework, and stuff.

Connor thanked River for the extra mags with a pat on the back, and returned to his previous position in the seating. He glanced at all the inpatient people around the slightly cramped Vertibird, moving restlessly. Connor was thinking of something to occupy his time as he looked outside of the dirt-ridden window of the air-transport vehicle, seeing all the small settlements that dotted in the remains of the ashes of America seemed to bring back a hope of the country's repopulation. He set his eyes back into the interior and grabbed his rucksack from the cold metal floor and scavenged through his survival provisions, taking out a box of cotton swaps he cleaned the barrel of his guns, making sure they fire the best they could in their state of dis-repair.

He sighed. "Looks like this won't hold for long.." He sat for a while staring at the ground, he then perked back up and finished cleansing them, knowing they can last until the end of the battle, he decided to get them repaired after battle by the company's repairmen. He looked back outside anxiously wondering when they would arrive at the infected city.

"It's been forever, why aren't we there yet?" Aaron whined. They had easily been in the vertibird for a half hour. What was taking so long? Aaron looked around again. Rachael was returning his glare. Connor was cleaning his guns. Aaron himself had gone through his pack of cigarettes. The man's patience was thinning.

OOC: Alright, I've finally gone through all of the threads (three!) and I think I know what's going on.. yeah.. I need to draw that map and I guess I have to take control of PLR's characters (joy of joys). If anyone wants to take control of any of his characters, please, you're welcome to it, but I'll start on that map and writing a post to get the ball rolling. I just hope I can do it justice :(

OOC: It just occurred to me that I can't GM this. I'm already running an RP (Free Vat Society.. such as it is) and we're only allowed one. Plus, I've given this some considerable thought and I just don't think I can do the job needed done here. This is a new type of RP to me.. I joined to try something new.. I don't think I'm quite the right person to try and run it.

Sorry, guys :(
