Blackwater?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:35 am

I realize Blackwater was "officially" founded in 1997, but is it possible that either the Talon Mercs or the Enclave are connected to it? It seems kinda strange that you have an organized private military popping out of seemingly nowhere...

I don't think they are connected to that PMC. It may have been part of the inspiration for talon company though.

I wouldn't think that PMC's, or at least as we know them would exist. Although I could very much believe that "Soldiers of Fortune" and men such as Mad Mike Hoare would have been more the norm, in the pre-war Fallout universe.

mercenaries have been around forever... And if the cold war had continued (as the continued existence of the Soviet union suggests) then having "Deniable assets" in other countries trying to bring the US's allies to power would make sense. So whilst not related per-se, they could be a descendant of a similar group.

Um, 'Xcuse me but Enclave didn't just "pop-up" out of no-wheres it was originally from the Fallout canon and the Fallout Series Diverged from our own in 1950 by taking the Transistor.

Well, in a way it did. There was no suggestion of any enclave style group in FO1, so in FO2 they did pop up out of nowhere.

Perhaps you should check them. Show me one Fallout 1 reference to the Enclave.

Hint: It helps if you remember the designers hadnt even though of them yet!

Very impressive.

Except most of us have been playing since '97.

And Ausir knows all.

The enclave werent active in Fo2's Territory during FO1... They were sittin in their oil rig twiddling their thumbs....

As for claiming to know a lot about lore... Well folks have already made comments about Ausir... Its a brave person who claims to know more than him, and not have a bethesda employee ID, or a bounced interplay paycheck.

I wasn't saying I knew more than Ausir, For Ausir is the GOD of Fallout Knowledge. Who I was attacking was the people that said I knew nothing of the Fallout Universe, Or I was a Noob....And Yes, You may have been playing since back in '97, Sorry if I was too young to comprehend things when I was only 5 years old...Even at 8 I really didn't understood how the world of fallout worked, Till I grew into the age of around 11, Sorry I'm too young for you geezers, But I did wait my fair share of 8 years for Fo3, Only to be disappointed, As Beth does this to their gamers.

For a company that dishes out dispointment to their gamers, they seem to be doing very well, in sales and critical reviews.

One would think that a company that dishes out disapointment to "Their" gamers, they'd have no fanbase (as they'd be too disapointed to remain fans).

Yes, because Bethesda being in DC is a branch of the CIA, and all powerful...
