Blade of Woe and Pickpocketing

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 1:10 am

Hello there, this is my first post here.
I recently found out that it is possible to have 2 Blades of Woe and dual equip them if you get the pickpocketing perk "Misdirection" (second to last, allows you to steal equipped items) and steal it from Astrid. Now, I wanted to ask if it is worth it. The dagger has a huge base damage of 24 and a nice enchantment to go with it, but I do now know how much can it be improved by smithing.
Basically what I'm asking is : is it worth taking perks in pickpocketing to be able to have 2 blades of woe or would it be better to have a daedric dagger instead of the second one?
Thanks!

I stumbled across this on my way though the dark brotherhood quest. I was in the habit of taking everyone's weapons before it just for fun and I was surprised when I received a second one towards the end of the quest chain. For me I upgraded both of the daggers (which didn't require any mats) and the base damage went from 24 to 37 (yes 37). I was blown away at how awesome dual wielding these babies are. Enjoy them.

For me, the Blade of Woe was very "meh" at higher levels. At the time I got it I already had a daedric dagger with 18-20 absorb health on it, so I was underwhelmed by the 10 that it offered. Daggers are broken at the moment anyway. They don't scale with the 1h damage increase enchantment.

Strange, i have 2 blades of Woe and i cant equip them both.
I think daedric dagger improved to legendary deals more damage.

Pretty sure this is true. I used some +smithing enchanted armor and one +30% smithing potion. My daedric dagger is 40+ if I remember right.

My thoughts exactly. The Blade of Woe is great for early and sometimes mid-game, but if you are like me and did some work in Smithing and Enchanting, you'll find yourself outclassing them so much.

I have my own Daedric Daggers with Absorb Health, Absorb Stamina, Fiery Soul Trap, and Shock Damage (two for each one). They do 117 Damage each @ 100 One-Handed, so no other daggers in the game really compare.

I liked having two. I'm stuck on Mehrunes Razor since I got it. Blade of Woe is a close second.

The Blade of Woe is a beast, and if you have the levels in Smithing, you can get it all the way to Legendary. My Blade of Woe is hitting somewhere in the area of 63.

{63 x 15 (perk)} x 2 (Ancient Shrouded Gloves doubles backstab damage) = 1890 damage with a successful backstab.

Uhh, blade of woe does more dmg for me upgraded to legendary than my daedric dagger. not much more, enchants will make the daedric dagger stronger.

two blade of woe's sounds nice, i do wish the design was a bit more original kinda just looks like a daedric dagger, adn also wish enchantement on it was better. i want two mehrunes razors lol (they look cool, cool enchant of instant death, but poor base dmg)

Is it easy to make poisoned apples when you get pickpocket? Is it an alchemy thing?

Blade of Woe has a base damage of 12, whereas a Daedric Dagger has a base of 11. Using non-glitch max crafting, you can get Daedric Dagger to 171 damage. I don't have hard numbers for the Blade of Woe, but it should get to about 180 max... but since it doesn't require any specific material to upgrade, it may not benefit from smithing material perks... which would cap it around 80. Both of these numbers translate into one-shot kills on almost anything, so it really boils down to style, and how much you value the ability to add your own enchants.

The blade of woe does higher base damage than a daedric dagger but it also swings as fast as a sword. This makes a dedric dagger superior because it swings faster and is enchantable, not to mention the elemental fury shout.

the daedric dagger is 171 w/ 4 29 smithing clothes and the 130 smithing potion, not just 100 smithin and daedric perk....thats m,uch much lower
