Blades of Snow

Articulation - study of the Great Horned Blue I

It is no mystery that our interactions with the denizens of the East have been less than friendly, a number of invasions one of which proved integral to the budding of the Cyrod Empire, and even then we still know next to nothing of these people of the long east. Few have attempted to gain an understanding and even fewer still have met with any success most meeting with utter disaster.

But in all breaths perhaps the least understood and possibly most reviled with no redeeming qualities are the Kamal, or Great Snow Demon as they are called in the Akaviri tongue. my ancestors cross blades with them in their first invasion, the intentions of which historians still have not uncovered to this day compared to the Tscacie.

Three Portals and a harrowing journey by sea later I found myself in the coastal city of Ahri-lan, one of many city states belonging to the Tang'mo a prideful and spirited moneky folk attributed to "driving back the snow demons every spring"

let me state now any people capable of withstanding constant onslaught year by year is either a force to be reckoned with or assailed by a force of mediocrity, and considering the means it took to drive back the Kamal (with near divine intervention) it most assuredly couldn't be the latter.

My Akaviri is poor, my Tang'mo even more so, and the many dialects of these denizens made it no easy task to gleam further information of the Kamal. all historical information in Tang'mo culture is apparently spoken....literally, see I took out several books and journals I brought along, with a little flailing and gesturing with these articles I attempted to find the location of a Library or historical attainment area of some kind, to no avail.

Tang'mo do not keep books or extensive written records of any kind, sure they have a writing system, clan insignia, and Virtue names but all history is told orally through what I nicknamed flow stones, as their true meaning was lost on me. a large I must admit this was also a fruitless pursuit, as amazing as the city state of Ah'leko (where this extensive collection of flow stones are kept) words and descriptions of unfamiliar locals will do little to guide me.

I shall travel a bit north where I'm sure I'll find more relevance to the Kamal, their whereabouts and what the Tang'mo may know of them.
