Blender 2.5 and Nif Scripts

Post » Sat Oct 03, 2009 6:52 pm

Today I decided to see if I could export some of my models to Morrowind so I installed PyFFi and the Nif Scripts but they don't show up in Blender. I use Blender 2.5 so I of course downloaded the 2.5x scripts and I installed them to my .blender/scripts folder.

Does anyone else use Blender 2.5? Is it even possible to use the nif scripts with that version of Blender?

Just out of curiosity, why don't you use the Blender 2.49b that is "stable"?

ABout the Nif Script, you may try to report the issue here

Blender 2.5 is at alpha stage. It has just been released to track bugs and have a sneak preview of the new interface. It doesn't even contain all features of 2.49 yet and many functions may change til final release again. It would be a waste of time to make nifscripts for the actual version!!! I agree with Arcimaestro and I'm personally not sure, if I will ever use Blender 2.5. I dislike the visual changes and the new features it will have are only of interest for very advanced people, who can make full use of the program.

2.5 is stable and it has A LOT of features that 2.49 doesn't have. I need those features. Right now I can't imagine going back to 2.49.

yeah I use Win 7, I've used it since RC1. :)

After poking around the NIF script forum I saw that amorilia is apparently working on a 2.5 port for the nif scripts but it's not ready yet... :nope:
