I've been using Blender 2.49b because it is the version that works with the Niftools exporting stuff. However, I was looking on Niftools' sourceforge pages and saw there is a niftools for 2.5.7.

Does this mean I can finally use a newer version of Blender (2.5.7 at least, hopefully compatible with 2.5.8...)? And if so, why has everyone told me to use 2.49b even though these new one have been out for several months now?
