Blender 2.5

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 10:04 am

I'm just about to start looking at Blender. I've installed 2.49b and the Nifscripts but would I be better off switching to 2.5, which apparently has a new interface, even though it's still in alpha? Everyone comments on how difficult it is to get to grips with Blender's GUI and I don't really want to do it twice if I don't have to. Bearing in mind that all I want to do is load/edit nifs or make a few simple models. Nothing fancy. Is there any reason not to go with 2.5 right now? Thanks.

The problem with 2.5 is that it doesn't yet have working nifscripts for it. So using it to mod for Morrowind would not be possible; or at least be much more difficult.
