I find that this place is named strangely. A grotto is a small underground cave, whereas Bloated Man's Grotto is more of a glen in the mountains. The only thing resembling a cave is the tunnel that you walk down in order to get to the so-called "grotto".

Anyone know why it's called a grotto when it clearly isn't?

I've had troubles with this, too. The "grottoes" in Morrowind is what I expected: Lots of water.
Broken Oar is a grotto, by my way of thinking. Bloated Man's has a small pool of water with a waterfall. Not much of a grotto, in my eyes
