Blood and gore

Post » Mon Dec 20, 2010 7:27 pm

Hi, so I was watching a video of the crysis 2 multiplayer beta test, and then the guy who playing snipes another guy from a distance, and i see all of this amazing blood just splatter out like crazy. I think ive also seen it in a few other vids and I think the aliens will have some weird blood too :D Think about this; if we already know that the humans will have great blood, then why wouldnt the aliens right?

Blood and gores GOOD, but only if its not over the top, like seeing blood squirting out of peoples arteries and getting thier eyes blown out etc.

BO had about the right amount in the singleplayer, and guys dont hound me for saying one part of the game should be the same as blackops, its just the blood level

I seriously don't care about blood in games (unless it looks awful). I guess it does add a certain feel to killing an enemy...

I don't really care about blood... But really, you don't have to generalize and say that people who hate blood are 'pansies'. That's just insulting.

Shooters like Crysis 2 do need blood. But they don't ridiculous gore and intestines used as nooses with lungs exploding out of people's legs if you so much as sneeze at it.

Crysis won't be that fun if punching Koreans in the face sent bits of skull and brain smashing and hitting your visor, the fun would be lost : /

If it's actually realistic blood, I don't mind. But I don't want "I hit him! I can tell from the fountain of blood now spewing out over there!"

Anyone else notice that most blood in video games is not affected by the fog shaders?

I don't like overexaggerated blood but I actually loved WaW's blood and dismemberment, made it feel real for me with the atmosphere. Still the most realistic CoD game in my opinion.

No excessive blood please. I don't care, but the more blood is in the game, the higher the possibility that it won't be realeased here in Germany.

I don't think a large amount of blood is a good thing. I think the interaction is much more important.

If you shoot someone who's against a wall/object, their should be blood spatter on the wall/object. A pool should slowly form when they're bleeding out on the ground. If you shoot them up close, the screen/HUD should get spray back.

Basic stuff, but it's far more important than gushing litres of red goop imo!

I think the Killzone kind of blood and gore is pretty good. Same with the Rainbow Six series.

I agree with Adam on this. I don't like excessive amounts of blood, but the pool on the floor and the splatter on the wall is what I like.

But some damage must be illustrated for sure, scratches and holes on nanosuit maybe. IMHO.

I think the blood level should be as realistic as possible: if som1 gets shot in the neck, there's gona be a lot of blood! (it's also nice and rewarding.) I hope they remember to add bullet holes to people when they get shot but don't necessarily die, like on far cry 1. I also HATE the idea of disappearing bodies, it's just stupid.

i mean, if we're going for realistic, will there actually be that much blood? I'm not exactly an expert, but I don't think blood "sprays" out of a wound if you get shot in, say, the arm. And then again, isn't the whole point of the nanosuit that bullets don't penetrate it?

blood shouldnt be gushing out and going all over the place like in GOW,
i think it should be as what adam said.
But different weapons should have different effects, for example:
If a .50 cal sniper was shot at someones arm/head/leg it would come off, a 50cal bullet would really mess up your day
i remember seeing a hunting promo vid and someone shot a dear with a barret, the deer flew around 4 meters into the air. This wasnt faked or anything.
but with a rifle nothing more than just a hole and a bit of a red spray no bigger than the human head or something
