Blood of Anu

Post » Thu Jun 28, 2012 9:57 am

Ebony is the blood of Lorkhan. Lorkhan descends from Padomay, and so ebony is in a sense, the blood of Padomay, or at the very least padomaic (it's not like Padomay can actually bleed). By bonding Daedra, who are padomaic by nature to ebony, we create the material "Daedric".

Some time ago, someone (I think it was SithisLorkhan), suggested that Adamantium should be the most Anuic material. Evidence for this could be seen in the Adamantium tower, constructed by Auriel (or Akatosh?). So.....what could we bond to adamantium to create a new material? It seems to me that there are two possiblities. The first, the Magne Ge, who left with Magnus, who is often considered anuic. The second are dragons, but their souls are immortal, and I can't imagine them being bound to any kind of material.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Ada-spirit
Mantia-freedom

Adamantia
Adamantium

In Tamriel, I associate freedom with Lorkhan.

Eh, I don't see the ada from et'ada as the ada in adamantium. That's like saying malachite is the blood of malacath just because they share some letters.

Neither malachite nor malacath contain root words that are seen elsewhere. A poor anology.

It's highly unlikely that MK chose the three letters 'ada' at random for his name. Especially when the -mantia part is fraught with meaning, an elaborate literary reference. He has mentioned Pelin-ada. If it is coincidence, it is sloppy and means nothing. Here it means something. BATW.

But that 'ada' isn't the important part of that post anyway.
We have the Nu-Mantia intercept, taken from the Roman town of Numantia in Spain, the subject of Cervantes epic poem (play?) about freedom, Numancia. Nu in MK's vocabulary tends to work the same is it does in Nu-Metal music, and Mantia is to be associated with freedom.

Edit: Obviously I'm not crackpot enough to draw these connections myself. MK talked about the Cervantes thing in an old thread. The main story here is a brilliant method of throwing out the D&D name Adamantium.

Okay, I see your point there. But I thought it was Aka who made Ur tower, which is completely composed of adamant. With Lorkhan, you have this blood splatter of ebony from where his heart struck Red Mountain, but with Aka you have him mentioned creating the first known adamant. I'm just wondering if there is a foil that could be made to daedric equipment, and how one would go about doing that.
