Greetings follow warriors, mages, and thieves,

I am in need of assistance in completing Windhelm's "Blood on the Ice" quest. I know that this is one of the buggiest questions in the game, but like many a traveler before me, I cannot get passed the "ask Jorleif for assistance" and "investigate the crime scene." Neither Jorleif will offer assistance and there is nothing new at the crime scene. According to the boards, the unofficial patch 1.3 should fix this. I downloaded and installed it to no avail. I have also tried the console command: prid resurrect with no luck.

Any ideas how I can restart this quest?

Do you know what house you are supposed to investigate? Hjerim is it's name. Break in, snoop around and the return to what's his face Jorleif after snooping around Hjerim a little

This is what I did, with UESP wiki going I forced my way through the quest, hop onto UESP and follow the quest stages yourself.

I was going to add just check the UESP, the link in My Signature will work to get there.

Be careful with advancing this Quest by the console, it can make Hjerim bugged as a Player Home.

Bugged? Nah!... I don't have that quest in my current character and I never will. Susanna the Wicked got lucky this time. The thing is, I wanted Hjerim this time.
