Bloodlines: The Order

All,

This is an informal announcement of sorts - after months of setbacks and delays, I finally have another Oblivion quest mod underway. The working title is Bloodlines: The Order, and here is the summary from my website:

Bloodlines: The Order is a quest mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion that examines the role of the "Champion of Cyrodiil" long after the zenith of his/her glory. The player is asked to continue the work of a moribund military order, the Knights of St. Alessia. After accepting the Order's charge, the player will soon unravel a web of deceit and conspiracy spanning the whole of Cyrodiil, and will be aligned against a collection of ancient, predatory foes who hold the aging Champion in contempt.

Inspired by works such as Beowulf, Unforgiven, and Old Man Logan, The Order is a unique opportunity for the player to act as an "Aging Hero" (or villain) as he/she seeks challenges for a high-level character.

The ETA for The Order is late October, 2011.

As production continues I will post openings for art (limited) and voice acting opportunities (some, but not on the scale of NVBII). The ETA is October or never, because once Skyrim is upon us, well... there is no explanation needed, is there?

I started modding in Oblivion, so I have a strong urge to leave something besides The Duelists (which has its own bizarre merits, but really, it's nothing special) before making the inevitable exodus to Skyrim.

Note: The Order is intended to function as a "spiritual successor" to Tom Dawson's Verona House: Bloodlines. I'll leave it at that. As mod authors go, I'm unduly reticent, so it may be a few days between updates, if not longer (Sorry folks, take me as I am). If you have feedback or wish to volunteer when roles are available, just PM me at the Nexus.

You can track updates and/or announcements at http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/425459-bloodlines-the-order/page__p__3526928__fromsearch__1#entry3526928

Thanks for any forthcoming support, suggestions, and feedback.

So would it be safe to say that when your mod comes out i should play Verona House: Bloodlines first then Bloodlines?

Not necessarily, no. The Order references some of the characters in passing, and includes a few nods to the earlier mod (as it has a lore-friendly, post-Oblivion Crisis plot involving vampires), but it is not a sequel. It is meant to be played some time after the events of both "Light the Dragonfires" and Verona House, but in a purely technical sense, it is scripted to begin immediately after the main quest is finished. To be clear: neither the story nor the script require Verona House.
