Boats that actually move.

Seems random I know, but think about it. In Oblivion and Morrowind the boats just stood there the entire time, except for that one quest where the Bloated Float got jacked. Anyway it would give the game a more realistic setting, and hey maybe took could even hop on and chill while you cruise to another city. Just a thought. Come to think of it; are even any major rivers or seas in Skyrim?

I think we'll see moving boats deep in the waters. Probably past a border/barrier. More flavor than anything else.

Sailing ona boat is too slow, and making it realistic (crew acts to direct the boat) is even slower. And since the only water in skyrim is at north, where icebergs are all over the place, i dont expect many boats. therefor i do not expect bethesda to focus attention on them. Also, since its really hard to implement, much much work for making it look real... doesn't seem worthy since the only thing the player will do is "meh HERP a boat moves" and maybe sail one, once.

However, there is some boat in the middle of the sea at the gameplay trailer, but Oblivion had the same in its opening trailer yet there are no boats and ships moving around at Cyrodil at all.

yeah i think we will be on moving boat status. when oblivion and morrowind came out it was typical for games to have solids fixtures such as that and other things. but standards has upped as the next gen consoles have become the now gen. if u know wut i mean. so just to meet standards they r going to have to have stuff like that.

Todd has said you can't ride boats. Whether or not some will move, or can be used for transport (ala Morrowind's boats, which act as teleporters), we don't know. Would be nice to see boats moving, but if we can't ride them, I wouldn't miss them.

Boats in the distance at least? Or small merchant ships going down river.

I'm more worried they will have static carriages, let alone boats. If I'm travel on roads, and never see a carriage, then I'll know I'll never see a boat :).
