Bobble heads and magazines.

Heeyyy there. So apology if this is a dumb question but..

Do you still receive the perks from bobble heads and magazines if you have them stored in bobble head displays and magazine racks in your home? I have a few bobble heads in my display so far and I've managed to get one and a half racks filled with magazines in my Diamond City house. Do you have to have them on you or does it not matter?

Thanks :)

Yes, you still keep the bonus.

My question is how come your magazines don't fall out of the display rack? I can't display anything w/o it falling to the ground 1st time I leave and come back.

Yes you keep what ever bonus/perk you gain from obtaining bobbleheads and skill magazines once you have picked them up.

This happened to me also. I had four racks in my redrocket settlement - once I went over 15-20 magazines stored in the metal racks and one wooden magazine stand they started to fall onto the floor and every time I replaced them and went away by the time I got back most if not all were on the floor. I reckon it was those damned molerats messing with me lol. I ended up placing them in a container on the counter.

Nice, thanks!

Hmm. I've never had this issue. I've stored all my magazines in metal racks in my house and they've always remained there and upright.. I'll keep an eye out because that seems to be a pain in the butt.

Thanks man! It's good to know. I always figured i'd still get the bonus as i've spent all this time collecting them but i was never 100% sure.

I had the same issue with the magazine rack when i backed into it when I was in build mode and they went all other the place lol. What I use now is that other rack what looks looks like a bookcase since they stay in one place.

Fallout Dan, I'm glad you asked that question. I like having them on display but was unsure if you need them on you to receive the perks.

Do you place them on the rack manually or do you use the "store" function (the square button on PS4)?

I find placing things just makes them fall or move, by using the store function, they all get lined up neatly. :)

Of course I always use the large shelf rack rather than the rotating rack. That one I always had issues with.

BTW: yes, you keep all the perks even if they're stored. Once you got 'em, you got 'em. Same thing as companions. You don't need to have them as a companion to actually retain the perk once you've earned it.

I built a counter in Home Plate and put a couple of shelves on the wall behind the counter. On one shelf I put different versions of Nuka-Colas and put different types of booze on the other shelf. After leaving and coming back the Nukas were fine but the booze had fallen 1/2 way through the shelf. Left and returned again and the Nukas were still ok but now the booze was on the floor.

Also I had built a table and was displaying a globe on it. The globe had fallen through the table and was resting kinda inside the table. And on a different table I had built the magazines displayed there had fallen under the table.

I'm not sure about the "store" function. I placed the objects while in build mode. I'm on PC. I'll have to look into how to use "store" on PC.

I hate that you can't connect Home Plate to any other workbench, but, tonight I'm just going to go to all the suppliers and buy shipments and then head over to Home Plate and make something nice.

I am so tired of the settlements at this point that I just want to move all my personal stuff to Home Plate and forget about them for a while.

I gave 'em weapons and armor, food, water & defenses. They can deal for a bit while I take a vacation.

I always wanted to go to Salem.
