personally i want a medium character because i will still be able to move around quickly and climb things fast but i will stilll be able to take more damage than a light character

I'm going heavy because my friend wants to be a medium medic and we will be a duo. He uses me as a meat shield and keeps me alive and I get to live longer. I plan on going soldier so I can get the shield ability and kevlar armor upgrades. So I can better keep him alive and vice versa.

I'll really need to get a better feel for the game before I can get decided on this, although first impression would have me favor the Heavy (as medic, soldier and maybe even engineer) whereas the operative would definitely/most likely be at its best as a light. Since Op is the one class I'm least interested in, I voted Med and Heavy, depending on which of the two I prefer in the end...

Although every has to start as a medium, including me, I would favor the light. But I will eventually play all three.

Either medium or light for me. There's no telling until I get my hands on this beauty.

Nah, I stopped thinking and started not giving a damn sh't about it. Heck, I could start posting a poll about your most/least favourite class/bodytype/weapon/archetype/skill/smart-move every week and probably nobody would care.

And that answer is invariably "Kill everyone with a Machine Gun".

I'm going light soldier for flanks and hit&run tactics since my best friend is going to be a heavy medic with mini-gun shotgun combo.

me and my friend are gonna be a duo and will be running light classes, him soldier and me engineer, so i can buff his guns and he can keep my ammo up and we can parkour everywhere and setup a turret to watch our backs. so we can go behind enemy lines and just do work

Why would you go behind enemy lines with a Solider and Engineer? Wouldn't they be more helpful or effective helping other teammates or doing objectives, especially engineers - one the most objective-heavy classes? Sounds to me like you and your friend are rather selfish - choosing to only help each other and do your own thing.

not really, bc by getting behind them you for one distract them, two you are helping your team by getting behind so they have a clear shot at the objective. so your suggesting that we just stay at the frontlines while our enemies shoot from cover and not go behind them so we can get the objective? so you'll never go behind enemy lines and you'll just shoot them straight on? thought this game was about getting around people and not just straight on shooting across at each other. it sounds selfish but thats what our team is planning on having us do and when i say team, i mean an actual organized group of at least 5 people knowing what to do. im sure your team, unless you dont have one, will have a set role for you to do as well. its all about strategy and thats ours.

Leave this to Operatives - it's something they're good at.

so your suggesting that we just stay at the frontlines while our enemies shoot from cover and not go behind them so we can get the objective?

Are you suggesting that going behind enemy lines will be some "magic" tactic, in order for your team to complete objectives?

thought this game was about getting around people and not just straight on shooting across at each other.

Heavies kind of have a hard time "getting around people." - what you described is not what the game is about, but rather a possible playstyle.

it sounds selfish but thats what our team is planning on having us do

So you don't deny that it is selfish?

I'm sure your team, unless you dont have one, will have a set role for you to do as well.

No, my team does not have a "set role" for me to do, nor for anyone else I play with. The group of guys I play with all have their own strengths - we have our fraggers, our supporters, our healers, etc. and we do what we do best to complete our goals. We are all competent enough to just play the game and do what needs to done, whether it be play to our strengths or change classes when need be. It tends to be much more effective than limiting ourselves to a set role.

You'd distract them for the whole 3 bullets it'll take to kill you. it'll be cool to see how your plan works out though.

Now now its a fine tactic. Set up turret and mines on the main route from enemy spawn to objective. So they get killed or have to go around, then the team will either accept longer ways to go around or draw people from defending the main objective to wipe out the nest.

thank you, i know its not the most original but in the past its proven effective. and with brink there will be tons of just different strategies and setups that'll work with the abilities that are given
