Body Mod Issues II

I've had this problem in the past, and it's come back with my latest FCOM installation. As far as I know, everything is working fine except for Robert's Male Body mod v5. I had managed to fix this last time by downgrading to v4, but even that isn't working this time around.

The mod itself works fine, but vanilla clothing is incompatible with it, even with the patches. I haven't tried any modded clothing. Shirts make gaps at the wrists, pants/shoes make gaps at the ankles etc.

I've created my bashed patch, installed all compatibility patches, tried downgrading, (which as I said fixed it last time) and have even reinstalled everything. I'm clearly doing something wrong as this has happened numerous times now and no one else seems to have this problem. :P

I just tested with new game various races and I do see the same issues that you see... hadn't noticed as my character is female.

I will say that it looks like the clothing is compatible... but maybe not done well? For instance, the veins on the hands seem to stay Roberts when donning the sack cloth shirt, but that slight gap at the wrist appears.

I'm using RBP as well and it really is a shame about the Mazken... they don't look well at all!

Don't know of any solution, but I'm sure something exists. At least for the Mazken, etc... it's like the textures are just not applying to those races.

You'll get that with vanilla clothing, as some (most) clothing have vanilla body parts included, and it swaps out RMB parts for it, leaving noticeable seams.

Did you install the RMB clothing that comes with the mod?

So I'm not insane. Excellent news! :P I really do hope there's a solution, though. I'm extremely OCD when it comes to things like this.

The archive earthling linked to includes the compatibility patches, but clearly they don't work as intended.

I should have looked at your load order first. I don't even see malebodyreplacerv4.esp in there? It needs to be active, and merged in your bashed patch.

Odd... I could have sworn I merged it. I know I had it merged before and it didn't work, so I doubt this will fix it, but I'll definitely recreate my patch and post back. :shrug:

EDIT: Nope, no difference. I can't believe there's no working patch for such a popular mod...

If you look in the "30 Clothes & Armor BASE" folder, the readme there has a disclaimer:

It's not perfect, I do know this, and there are some problems. This is mostly the reason why I'm making it a modder's resource. If you see a problem, feel free to fix it.


I think the wrist seem thing is one of those imperfections. The textures not applying to the Mazken seems like a RPB + Robert's issue though.

Perhaps this is relevant, from the RBP readme:

- Robert's Male body replacer: It's not a pure replacer, therefore you have to use Wrye Bash. Tag it with Body-M and load it before the Core file. Then it has to be included as part of the bashed patch. It still needs to be activated, but loaded before the core file.

Edit: that ^ just confirms Hanaisse's tip.

Post your load order again? And what options are you checking in your bashed patch for it?

I'm not sure what you mean by compatibility patches. When I mentioned the RMB clothing I meant the Robert Clothes and Armor base archive, which is simply new meshes that you drop into your Data folder. There should also be an archive for SI clothing, and a 1st person fixes archive.

And make sure you are using BSA redirection.

Do you not see any problems Hanaisse? Do you see Mazken with Robert's textures of any kind (dressed/undressed)? For me they have the meshes but very blurry, less quality than vanilla textures.

And yes, I confirm there are no "compatibility" patches for RPB in V5, just different replacers.

@earthling: I read the readme, but I didn't think there would be any "imperfections" as major as this. As for Bash tagging, RMB is tagged properly, and I've ran BOSS, obviously. It loads before bgBalancingEVCore.esp.

All available options are checked within those categories, aside from OOO in certain places as advised in the FCOM thread.

By compatibility patches I mean clothing replacers for vanilla, SI, OOO, MMM, and Frans. Vanilla and SI are included in the archive earthling linked to. OBMM is handling my archive invalidation, and it's set for BSA redirection.

@earthling; No, I don't see the exaggerated problems like that, but then I'm not running an FCOM setup with all the other armor replacers.

@powermapler; You've done everything right, sorry I can't offer a better solution except to say play the game, change out of that awful cloth shirt as soon as you can, and those issues shouldn't be so noticeable in proper armor.

I just checked this out in game and sure enough, from behind, there is a slight mis-match. I've never noticed this before, presumably because I play in first person exclusively.

As for the Mazken texture, Slof's Better Bodies (not Better Beasts) has improved textures for all the vanilla races, as well as eyelashes and Better Beast type improvements.

She also made available comprehensive photoshop files for creating your own - everything is on layers so you can mix and match even if you have no artistic skill.

But isn't BB another body replacer altogether? Is there no way to make the Mazken/Aureal compatible with Roberts?

No, it isn't. It's just a collection of better skin textures, plus Better Beasts assets merged into, and it actually "requires" both Robert's Male and Female body mods to work.

I don't know if there's proper texture support for Mazken and Robert's Male in RBP, will have to take a closer look next time I get to play for a while again, but so far I didn't encounter any issues.

Those gaps between the hands and arms are simply the gaps between Robert's Male V5 and Robert's Male V4 body meshes. So far there's only 1 real clothing and armor replacer for V5 I know of, this average one.
Even the packages included in the V5 beta download were made for and thus include Robert's V4 meshes, maybe some even yet older versions. They will never align 100% right, as the new V5 is just too different at some of the connection lines.

We need proper stock replacers for V5, then those gaps will be a thing of the past.
